I LOVE Hobby Lobby!!! I love everything in there - house decor, picture frames, ribbon, rubber stamps, scrapbook paper & embellishments, jewelrymaking supplies, and on & on. Right now I'm into the jewelrymaking supplies, and they have 50% off some of those items every week. They have a 40% off coupon on one regular-priced item online every week. It's a new store; so, it's still really nice. My only complaint is about the employees. If I have a question and I find someone to ask, they very seldom know the answer. Also, most of the cashiers are not friendly & never have a smile on their face. Regardless of the employees, it's probably my favorite craft & home decor store, and I'm really happy they're finally here.
OK, here's my update on Hobby Lobby. It is now 5/24/2023, and I still love this store. We were there the other day, and everything is still pretty much the same as my original review. Altho the store is no longer "new", it still looks as good as new. It always seems to be very clean and well organized, which makes it an absolute joy to shop in. Unfortunately, I still have the exact same complaints about the employees - no smiles and lack of knowledge. It's a shame really because that can be the kiss of death for a business. They're just very lucky that they have a lot of ride-or-die customers like myself. Also, like the other craft stores that are left, they have eliminated their weekly 40% off coupon, which I really miss a lot. I used that coupon every single week and sometimes more than once a week. However, a friend of mine and I got some fabulous deals on red-stickered clearance items the other day. For example, I got her a belated Mother's Day gift of an incredible iron wind chime, which reminded us of Texas where she's from, with horseshoes & a big star for the Lone Star State, that was $20 marked down to $10! She went crazy for it! I did, too. Then I found a canvas print picture ready to hang of an old red pickup truck, which I am really a sucker for, in a farm-type setting. It was $13, which I would have gladly paid, but I was much happier with the extraordinary price of $3!!! You just really need to look at everything you like because the best clearance items are not in their clearance section. All-in-all, this is not just a store for crafters, but it is still a store nobody...
Read moreI would like to share a wonderful experience I had when I visited the Hobby Lobby located at 23660 US Hwy 19 N, Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL., a few weeks ago.
I was looking for some embroidery floss in a very difficult to find, medium blue/gray) color. I wanted it to repair a one inch hole in a multi colored patterned mat I have that's a little larger than a regular kitchen floor mat. I asked the lady that works in the fabric section where I could find the floss. The dept. wasn't busy so she walked me trere herself. She then proceeded to try to find the right color with me. When we couldn't find a match I asked her if we could perhaps find the right color in the yarn section.
Again, she walked with me to that area. We both searched together but we didn't find a match. I thanked her very much for her kindness and for helping me with this . She then returned to her sewing table.
Before I left the store I decided to have one more look in the embroidery floss section and, bingo!!, I found the exact match. We had both missed it when we were looking there previously. I was pretty excited so I went to find her to show it to her. She was as excited as I was and asked me if I would consider bringing the repaired mat back to the store after I repaired it as she would love to see the end result. I assured her that I would, thanked her again for her wonderful assistance and proceeded to the cash to pay for the floss.
I would like to recognize this wonderful lady for her exceptional assistance, kindness and wonderful assistance. She represents the store very well. I ask that you kindly do the same.
The lady was about 55 to early 60's. She had thick, wavy blonde hair, just above shoulder length. She was approximately 5' 5" to 5' 7" and had a slim build. She was also wearing glasses.
Thank you very much for reading my...
Read moreToday I went to to the Clearwater florida store. I had my son and grandson with me. There was a 40% off coupon to use in the store. We each bought a skein of yarn. They were originally 6.99. After buying my mom called and asked me to get 1 more in a different color. So my son/ grandson went out to the car while I went back and got one more skein. I used the coupon again. I was using a different cashier, but the cashier that originally checked me out was standing there making weird faces. She got the attention of a manager then said never mind. I thought something was just not right. I told my son about what happened and he suggested readi ng the coupon. Yes the coupon says 1 coupon per person per day. So we thought maybe that was her issue. But she never said: sorry you cannot use the coupon again today. If she had I would of said okay and paid full price. After we ate lunch my son wanted to go back and look at there greenery. When I walked in the store a lady at the door immediately said: oh you are back? I told her yes my son wanted to look at the greenery and I wanted to look at there knobs. Next thing I know we are being follwed by the first cashier. So I confronted her and of course she denied it. She better get some better spy skills. It was so obvious. So if you use a coupon at Hobby Lobby DO NOT go back to the store the same day. You will be treated like a criminal. Unfortunatly I need 3 more skeins of yarn. Tomorrow I will go back and use the coupon again as it is 1 per day. Then I will NEVER shop here again. And I will tell as many of my crafting friends to...
