Plaster Cottage — Local services in Clermont

Our kiddos absolutely love Plaster Cottage! It is easily one of their favorite local places. They never tire of getting to use their creativity for a variety of creations. Plaster Cottage hosts INCREDIBLE Art camps that have got to be one of the best kept secrets in Clermont. They are organized, accommodating, and friendly, and they pack a lot of fun into a small space. My kids beg to go! When I share about Plaster Cottage activities with other Mom friends, they're always so impressed at what is offered.

Plaster Cottage is VERY affordable (even for a family like ours with a very modest income and three littles who all want to participate!). There is plenty of selection for all ages. They provide much-needed aprons/ smocks to protect clothing, have so many colors and materials to choose from, and are always willing to answer questions. The staff is so welcoming and very helpful! This is a business that does not nickel and dime you, and I so appreciate that they always honor the discounts they advertise with no "exclusions" like so many other businesses seem to do.

On a past visit, one of the items we had left behind to be kilned had gotten misplaced. They were confident it would turn up (and it did), but they were so apologetic and kind... They contacted us right away when it was found and ready for pick-up. It's obvious that this place has great ownership! Went with a friend, and we picked out our piece to work on, and it was relaxing and time flew by, and before you knew it, it was time to close. You are allowed to bring in food and drinks, which we did and had a really fun best friend date being all artsy. Only down fall, which really isn't a negative but it was a Saturday and they had several birthday parties with a bunch of children running around, but they weren't too noticeable once you got engrossed in your ceramic piece. So it is a nice place to have a birthday party for your child or even a bridal party thing, and each person makes a plate or cup to give to the couple as a set. Over the years I have visited Plaster Cottage with my five children many times. The owner is a former teacher and is so patient and absolutely amazing with children. Two of my daughters have both had birthday parties at the Clermont location and both were so stress-free and fun. My kids have also attended special day camps on-site and they're always a blast. The most recent one was in partnership with Oakland Nature Preserve and my kids were obsessed with meeting the animals up close and also painting their beautiful animal pieces. It's so rare that I feel comfortable leaving my children in the care of others, even for just an hour or two, but I always know they're safe and looked after at Plaster Cottage.
