Huarike makes for an excellent representation of Peruvian cuisine culture. Upon my first approach of the restaurant, I was intrigued by the alternative design of the building; what seems to be a former residential home has been refurbished into a quality dining restaurant. The interior continues to carry this familiarity, yet it is not too distracting and, personally, I find it charming. Initially I was a little disappointed by the reception desk, as the reception space is very small and the servers were too preoccupied with their current tables to give us expedited attention. We waited maybe 3-4 minutes until being attended and seated. The establishment is new and the servers are still getting used to the flow of business, so I could easily waive this problem. The dining hall is absolutely gorgeous. Kudos to the decorator they did a fantastic job. The design theme is fancy and elegant, yet still cool and homely. It makes for an excellent atmosphere that really defines the quality of your dining experience. Their investment in decoration was worth every penny. My greatest (and only) concern is the use of the interior real-estate in the dining hall. Particularly, the placement of the dining tables and chairs caused moving throughout the hall to be very claustrophobic and awkward. Servers would infrequently bump into tables or chairs and navigating to the bathrooms is very cramped, especially to the mens room. This is really the only issue I think needs to be addressed. Speaking of usage of space, the restaurant has a moderately large front yard, but they currently are not doing anything with it. I think you could either replace the grass with an expanded patio, making for more outdoor dining space. Alternatively it can be used as a waiting room for especially busy days, or decorated to match the beauty indoors. The food. Was. Fantastic. I’ve been to multiple other Peruvian restaurants in Florida, but none have been able to beat the food at Huarike. To start, the menu is gorgeous and elegant, and offers a modest list of options of a relatively wide variety. The presentation of each dish was beautiful and professional, an excellent decision that will greatly help with marketing. I ordered the lomo saltado, but I forgot to take a photo of it because I was too anticipated to eat. Lomo saltado is a Peruvian classic that appears on every Peruvian menu, but Huarike is the only one to do it exceptionally . The steak is tender and rich, the potatoes, are gently roasted and complement the steak juices nicely, and I don’t know how they prepare the white rice, but they have the recipe precisely perfected. Flavorful, sticky but not mushy. I could eat it every day. I had a great time dining with Huarike Peruvian, and I will certainly be coming back again. I recommend investing into local marketing, just be sure you’re prepared to catch a large wave of hungry guests, because Huarike is...
Read moreWe had never tried Peruvian food before, so we weren’t quite sure what to expect. The restaurant itself is cute, warm, and cozy. The staff were very pleasant, though the dining room was a little warm (not intolerable).
Service The service was friendly and efficient, but not very organized. Dishes came out as soon as they were prepared rather than in a traditional order (appetizer first, then entrées). This meant my entrée arrived while I was still working on my appetizer, and by the time I ate it, it had cooled off. With some adjustments, this is something they can easily improve as they settle in.
Food Acevichada Wings – Very good; hot and flavorful. Beef entrée – Tasty, though a little on the bland side (possibly just unfamiliar to my palate). Tuna entrée (not the tartare) – Also good but slightly bland. Unfortunately, despite requesting no cilantro (my partner is sensitive to it), the dish still contained cilantro, so she was unable to eat it. We didn't make an issue out of it, but staff did not attempt to correct it either. Tempura Sushi Roll – Fresh and very good, but the pieces were oversized. If eaten in two bites, they tended to fall apart; slightly smaller portions would make them easier to enjoy.
Overall Impression Even with a few hiccups, the food came out hot and fresh, and nothing we tried was bad. For a restaurant that has only been open for two weeks, some “growing pains” are understandable. We don’t consider this a one-and-done visit and we’d like to come back and try more dishes. At minimum, it feels like a great cozy spot for drinks (which we’ll plan on next time). With some fine-tuning of service and attention to dietary requests, I think this will become a wonderful addition...
Read moreHuarike Peruvian Cuisine is a gem that completely exceeded my expectations! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, inviting, and beautifully designed a perfect mix of modern elegance with a homey touch. Every detail, from the décor to the plating, has been carefully thought out and it shows.
The food? Absolutely outstanding. Each dish is a piece of art — colorful, authentic, and bursting with flavor. We tried several plates and every single one was mouthwatering good. The Wagyu burger was to die for — the touch of sweet maduros took it to another level. The scallops were fresh, vibrant, and beautifully presented. The salmon over handmade pasta was even better than expected — creamy, rich, and balanced perfectly. And the rainbow sushi was both gorgeous and delicious.
Even the non-alcoholic drinks were a highlight : sweet, refreshing, and packed with flavor. You can tell they put just as much care into the drinks as they do into the food.
Service was impeccable, attentive without being overbearing, and truly made the experience feel special.
I left already dreaming about the food and can’t wait to go back to try the rest of the menu. If you’re in Orlando (or even just passing by), Huarike is an...
