Very unorganized. I never write reviews, especially negative ones… but I returned home so disappointed. That was my first and only experience at Studio 11… At first, the instructor said that one-time pass is $10 and I told her that I would like to try their unlimited for 3 weeks deal since I live in Tremont. She said why don’t you try one time and see if you like it and then you can buy 3 week class. I didn’t want to pay $10 for one class instead of $33 for unlimited. She said we can talk about it after class.
The class started late, the studio was cold with cold air on the floor because people keep opening the main door. If you are there first time it is difficult to follow if you are not familiar with the workout. It seemed like they only care about taking your money and not about providing the best experience so you come back.
After class I was there for literally 30 minutes because of a problem with their card swiper. After swiping my card like 100 times the card was finally processed and after I returned back home I realized they charged my card $15, not 3 week pass for $33 or the $10 like she told me before class. I was really disappointed by the class itself, management and instructor. I am kind of happy they charged me only for one class since I don’t have any intention of coming back. I was so looking forward to the class and studio, but unfortunately it was the worst experience...
Read moreI recently moved to the area and have been attending yoga classes at Studio 11 for a couple of months, after finding there was no bikram studio in my area. I have mostly been practicing Vinyasa/Yin with Julie and Hatha with Bob and Marcia. I also loved class with Grace when she's subbed and would join her classes if it worked with my schedule.
The instructors are really lovely, friendly people and lead thoughtful, well-organized classes with a nice variety of positions and movements. They are great about helping your practice be at the right level for you and are attentive to any specific body challenges or concerns anyone has. For example, they will provide alternative forms and are flexible to incorporate positions that address specific areas you want to work on.
The only potential gripe I have is related to the space. It seems kind of ad hoc, currently in an old theater with no mirrors, and sometimes the building's schedule conflicts with classes (e.g. wedding rehearsals). However, it is a very large, open, 2-story space, and it is never crowded, so it feels relatively safe practicing during COVID. They also offer outdoor and virtual classes.
Also, I wish there were more pilates offerings that worked with my schedule because I think pilates is a great complement to yoga - but that's more of an individual issue for me. Note that there are no mats, weights, bands, etc. provided -...
Read moreClean studio, easy to find & access. Instructor was friendly and kind. I took "Intermediate Pilates". Unfortunately the instructor arrived late, when I got there the studio was still locked up. The class just seemed unorganized. A lot of wasted time getting weights and bands etc. Usually the instructor tells you what to get ahead of time so you're all ready to go and the class can move along, but there were so many pauses, I didn't feel like I got a workout. It didn't feel like true or proper Pilates. After class the instructor kept saying that the class wasn't normally like that & I should come back on a different day. I have a tight schedule and limited time for workouts so I can't waste my time on classes that I get nothing from. Sadly, I won't...
