Finally Carmen's — Local services in Cliffside Park

Make an appointment here only if you have time to reschedule. Carmen is a skilled hairdresser. Her prices are reasonable. But there's a catch. She will overbook herself. And if the work you're having done is not as costly as that of others she's booked, she will bump you. Just happened to me. Worse still, she pretended I was a walk-in. I made the appointment a week before. I had even told her by phone, since she sounded frazzled, that I could return at any other day, any other week, but at the same general time. She said not to worry. She'd cut my hair on Friday. Hah. As said, she pretended I was a walk-in. Then she said, if I were patient, I could wait as she did color on others. So I got treated to condescention as well. How long would I have had to wait? She said, probably just an hour and a half. Just? This is not good business practice. Maybe if she would have deigned to apologize for her booking mistake...but no. She makes that I am being unduly impatient. Ok. Good-bye. There are other hairdressers who have a more honest approach to business. I suggest you check them out or go only if you have several services resulting in a hefty bill so you have a chance of competing for your appointment. Or hope you're appt is on a slow day.
