Horrible customer service. Placed an online order and wanted to exchange my items for something else or just return it in general. They kept giving me the run around. First telling me that their systems were down (first red flag) and to come the following week & that I have nothing to worry about because there is no time limit on their return policy (second red flag). Come the following week, they tell me that they still can’t do anything and the system still isn’t working (third red flag) and that they still have no way of accessing my order history (fourth red flag) and that they can just honor the online price and offer an exchange (fifth red flag). Two days after, I speak to someone else and they tell me that I cannot return my online order because it is select stores only (sixth red flag) and to go to the Botony Plaza GNC. I told them that I can only return online orders to a corporate store, which is Styretowne, and that Botony is a franchise. Clifton is the closest corporate store to my house currently since most have closed down due to bankruptcy. I used to work for GNC and I know for a fact that they were just being completely shady to avoid ruining their numbers for the day. The information he provided is incorrect and on their website itself it says any corporate store and when I told him that I am aware of policies, he gave me an attitude saying that I do not know how corporate stores operate because I’ve only worked for franchise. Its just amazing how despite that being true (franchise and corporate operate differently aside from the return policy), I know corporate policy better than he did. I had to contact customer service and customer service was on my side and apologized for the situation and they called the Clifton store to speak with the associate and they did not answer the phone. They called again and spoke with the associate and gave them my case number and that they must accept my return. It was one of the worst experiences at GNC and honestly I am not surprised because this location has a reputation for denying returns (even their own sales). Please avoid giving them your business as clearly they do not care for customer service and only view they customers as a dollar sign. I understand returns prevent you from hitting your monthly goal, but unfortunately, that’s business & returns are a part of the retail environment. You cannot deny returns simply because you do not want to negatively impact your sales...
Read moreI went into GNC today to make a return. I normally love this location because Andy is so amazing. Today I encountered Al the manager and had the worst experience of my life. I walked in to make the return and was told they don’t do returns, I explained that I am aware of the policy and can make a return. Al proceeded to get loud saying I haven’t been to the store since January and I can’t come in and do a return then Al started to ask the employees the cameras are rolling on her right. I felt extremely uncomfortable with the way he was speaking with me so I stepped out and contacted customer service. Customer service explained that the store does do returns and gave me a case number to give to the store. I went back inside and Al said Oh you again you gonna keep coming in and out. I told him I contacted customer service and he got louder saying “you people “ always want to call customer service for something. All that’s going on in the world and you people just want to complain and run your mouth. I said sir I don’t want to argue with you I just want to return my item. A women employee took the case number and started my return. As she’s working with me Al is standing next to her saying look at her account she doesn’t even come in here but watch I have all her information. I know where she lives watch. I started to shake and feel very threatened because now he is telling me watch watch I have your address. The entire time the women processed my return he taunted me and talked about me. I have never been so embarrassed and racially profiled like that in my entire life. I love that GNC is next to the gym but I will never be giving that location my...
Read moreI had a horrible experience with this particular branch of GNC because I was pressured to sign up for an auto delivery subscription but eventually agreed because they told me I can cancel it at any time. After a few weeks, I called to return my auto delivery product and an elderly female employee with glasses denied me the service and told me to mail it back. She lied and refused to accept my unopened return. I tried a couple of days later, when an employee by the name of Andy eventually accepted my return after much back and forth. However, when I tried to cancel my auto delivery subscription, Andy lied and told me they cannot cancel it through the store. After speaking with honest GNC employees from a different store, they cancelled it for me and told me this is a tactic used to trap new customers and make their employee sales look good. Beware of this particular branch because they...
