Muscle Maker Grill — Restaurant in Clifton

Food is decent but their meal plan system is a disaster. Here’s some context:

I ordered meal plans every week for at least 3 or 4 months. At first things were ok, with only the occasional mistake throughout my five weekly meals. However, the last six times I ordered a meal plan there was something wrong. Usually it consisted of getting an entirely different meal than I ordered (which I learned to check before leaving for this reason) and other times it was a messed up order such as asking for no mushrooms only to pull it out for lunch at work on day and find there are mushrooms all over it. I do not live that close to muscle maker grill (about twenty minutes away so 40 min drive round trip). After the sixth week in a row was messed up I finally asked to speak with either the owner or manager because I was really frustrated at this point. When I first asked, someone who was not a manager nor the owner was put on the phone. I told them that wasn’t acceptable and I need to speak to someone in a position of authority. My number was taken down and I was assured I’d be getting a call from them within the next day. Well here we are over 2 weeks later and still no word. I know many of the locations closed down and maybe the poor customer service was partially to blame. Who knows? All I know is that for a sit down in the establishment meal, it’s probably ok, but if you plan on doing a meal plan or taking an order to go I’d say avoid this place entirely and if you don’t avoid it, definitely thoroughly inspect your food before leaving to ensure you are getting what your ordered...

LOL their food is extremely mediocre and disappointing. Photo attached, this was a waste of money. I was told the sweet potato fries were good. The portion they gave me was small and many of the fries were mushy. I wish I could attach the video I took. Burger was regular — it was their impossible burger, so you can’t necessarily go wrong with that. I did ask for onions and they gave me small little diced onions but VERY few of them lmao.

Anyway, I highly recommend they get new plates because their plates are dingy and honestly look disgusting. Before I left, I noticed one of the cooks in the back, rolling a burrito on the bare counter. That’s uncleanliness and a burrito should be rolled with something underneath it, such as foil, a cutting board at least, etc. I just know that counter isn’t clean like that. I recently came into this muscle maker and was super excited to get a protein shake after my gym session. Not only did I receive bad customer service as I ordered, but my “protein shake” tasted just like water. The guy at the register did not want to seem bothered and felt like I was asking for too much. Two shakes that came out to be $16 is usually normal for muscle maker & I am content with the outcome, the thickness, sweetness, & taste of protein is worth the money. But, this time, I received straight water & powder in a cup with attitude. I’ve been here a couple of times & did not receive such horrible service overall.
