Hip Hop Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Maryland

I visited the Clinton location today to get some food. I honestly usually do not have a great experience at this location but I still go as it is more convenient when I want fried fish. Today was it for me and my last time patronizing this location. I was behind a family in line that was placing their order. I waited patiently as I was trying to figure out the type and count of fish that I wanted. The family finished ordering and moved away from the counter. It was my turn at least I thought. The cashier decided he want to text and use his phone rather than take my order. I waited patiently as I am not a complainer usually as I don't mess with people dealing with my food. It was so bad, the person behind me asked if I had ordered already. I told him no and that apparently the guy's phone was more important than our business. I said it loud enough for him to hear me and he still continued on his phone. I waited another 15-20 secs and there was no change in behavior so I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. I suggest going to "This is Seafood" if you are in Clinton, MD. They have fish and chicken as well and the service is 100 times better. The Clinton, MD location of Hip Hop will never get anymore of my money and I suggest anyone considering this location to not patronize...

BEWARE! The PIES and CAKES have MOLD! I stopped here to buy food for Sunday dinner. At the last minute, I decided to purchase a sweet potato pie. When I got home, I noticed MOLD on the pie! Absolutely disgusting! I drove 20 minutes back to the store to show them the molded pie. Shockingly, none of the pies or cakes have a “created date” or a “do not eat past” date — very unsafe!

When refunding my money, they charged me again instead. I asked to speak to the manager, and someone pointed me to Umar. He was VERY RUDE, dismissive, and simply said “sorry bye” like my concern didn’t matter. I asked if they could offer anything complimentary considering I wasted my time and gas trying to make things right — again, he said “sorry bye” and completely brushed me off.

To make it worse, when I asked for the REAL manager’s name, he refused to tell me. Horrible, unprofessional customer service! I will NEVER go here again. I’m calling the Maryland Health Department first thing in the morning. Places like this should NOT be allowed to sell food to the...

RUN!!!!! For the first time I purchased chicken and fried whiting from this place for dinner for my family! This was the worst food I have ever had. The fish and the chicken tasted like there was a chemical on them. My 23 years old son is home sick from the food. I called the store the morning and asked to speak with the manager, his name is Sanear. That's all he would tell me. I explained to him what happened. He was extremely rude!! He implied that it was something else my son ate and not their food, the crazy thing is, that was the only food my son ate yesterday, and hasn't eaten anything this morning. I told him that I would be notifying the Health Department - of which I am going to do. I am not sure the type of people they are used to dealing with, but his response to me was unacceptable. After we hung up the phone, he called me back talking a little more sense-able asking me not to call the Health Department. I will be stopping by there today to retrieve my refund.
