Extremely overpriced. I'm sorry I totally understand that you have to make a living but I have found so many items on eBay and Amazon with money back guarantees & free shipping with a 99% success rate including PS3's, PS2's, NES Games, etc. in reality you really don't lose buying online. So far I have found 35 NES games in pristine condition all working flawlessly on EBAY for $402.00 which includes titles like Tyson's P.O., Zelda 1&2, Mega Man 2, etc. By comparison at Blue Shell it would have costed $1016.00 🥺 for the exact same items. I would rather support my local community even if I have to pay up to 25-33% more but I draw the line there. I mean you still have to pay taxes even when ordering online I just prefer supporting local businesses since I've been a resident here since 1984 and it's just the right thing to do. I always call or go into one of your store's first and then I'll research what I'm going to buy online to see what the difference is and I have no problem paying more local vs. online to support the local community but when you're 150%-300% over consumer price it doesn't make any logical sense. Some of their items are fair price but not many. Example : Tyson's Punch Out is $50.00 at all their locations with zero negotiations. Online eBay and Amazon is flooded with Tyson's punch out as well for between $30-$50 some come with free shipping some not I would consider this worth buying locally because it's only like a $10 difference maybe $15 at most. So I'm glad they're not charging $150 for this game at least not yet lol. XBOX 360 used Controllers are overpriced at $45-$50.... again you can get these all day online for between $10 and $25 with an average price of $20 with free shipping. And yes even these online retailers are taking these controllers apart and cleaning them taking the Nintendo games apart and cleaning them and taking all the systems apart and cleaning them before selling them something you guys don't do when you guys take in items if they work after you test them with the customer present you then sell them but you do not take apart every single item that gets brought in unlike these online retailers that do in fact take apart and inspect before selling. Please take no offense to this I'm just being honest. PS3's (Fat Backwards Compatibility) all day long online for between $99.99-$199.99 with games, controllers, & cords. I think you guys asking $350 -$400 is somewhat excessive. Yes I know the PS3 is rare that particular one and yes I understand you guys include everything but so does everybody else you're not the only company that offers controllers and chords. Make your prices more competitive and at least negotiate somewhat on items you guys always say no for the last 4 years you guys won't even come down 20 cents on anything. If times are that hard rent is that high and you have to squeeze like that shouldn't you just shut down a few of your stores and go online as well you probably make more money with less overhead or you guys have so much business from so many clueless consumers that you guys can keep this going and if so I respect that 👍. BTW : THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS EXCEPTIONAL 👍🫵 I WILL GIVE THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT FIVE STARS THEY ARE WORTH WHAT THEY CHARGE BUT AS FAR AS SELLING ITEMS AT SKYROCKET HIGH PRICES WHEN WE CAN GET THEM ONLINE I JUST WISH THEY WOULD LOWER THEIR PRICES A LITTLE BIT ESPECIALLY IF WE BUNDLE BUY 10 GAMES AT ONCE WHICH THEY...
Read moreI would highly discourage anyone from choosing this place as your first choice if interested in any form of gaming or accessories. The very first noticeable thing is cleanliness. The appearance inside the store looks as if nobody has even dusted in weeks if not even months. The second thing I noticed is the amount of time employees, yes plural….were spending on cell phones. The third immediate observation I had made is the lack of professionalism such as eye contact. The fourth immediate observation I had made is the pricing of items, dozens and dozens of items if not more looked as if they were priced well above 30% of what their value should be even at a store/retail. I had purchased an older gaming system an NES. When I took the Nintendo home I noticed a lot of dust in a number of crevices in the device. As well as what appeared to be some kind of glue or gum like substance on the power cord in more than one spot. On the base of the power cord where it is supposed to plug into the wall outlet, There is some open areas are holes that you can tell that is where screws going to hold it together….. The screws were in there but inside the holes themselves was more dust thick enough to be a cobweb. I came across an issue where the device was shutting off after a couple minutes of gameplay so I decided to bring it back to blue shell to see what my options were. I didn’t have to wait too long before receiving what I thought was gonna be help however once again a lot of time spent on his cell phone and not really even making any sort of eye contact while talking. The employee decided to do a test of the system itself after hearing my complaints. One test seem to work the other one did not. Already feeling a little bit uncomfortable with the environment and with the actions of employees I asked if I could just return the item. I was told they do not give A refund in most cases but they would see what they could do for me…. I was offered 50% of what I paid in star credit Or 30% of what I paid as a cash refund…… none of this was explained prior to purchasing the item or even during the purchase giving the customer a chance to know what they’re getting into. There is a small sign printed on an 8 x 10 piece of paper near the countertop where the purchases are done. However, it’s not exactly noticeable or something that is easily seen in the store. I would definitely strongly recommend choosing another place. GameStop is overpriced as well on most of their items but at least they have some decent level of customer service and you don’t feel like you’re walking into a room or building of absolute filth. I would give half of a star if it...
Read moreHiked 2 miles in a rush to get there before 7pm since the first associate I spoke with conveyed to me that I would need to be there by 7pm to sell my Xbox for cash. At 6:55pm I was in the parking lot on foot approaching the store and decided to call once more to assure them that I am less than 1 minute away only to be told by this other associate that for purchasing customer items I needed to be there by 630pm so that he can test the merchandise before buying it from me. This is completely understandable and I get it; people scam businesses quite frequently. What upsets me is that I hustled as fast as I could for 2 miles on foot carrying a video game console based on the information given by the first associate, only to basically be told the equivalent of "sorry pal, better luck next time" by the associate when I called just before 7pm.
Therefore, my gripe does not lie with either of the two employees who answered the phone. I truthfully am most bothered by the inconsistency of information given to me within a mere 2 hour period over the phone. This type of problem lies squarely upon the owner/manager for neglecting to encourage consistency and adherence to uniform rules of the establishment. How is one expected to patronize an inconsistent establishment which degrades consumer confidence and sentiment? I hustled 2 miles on foot, in the dark, as an epileptic only to basically be told to kick rocks because the associate closing on this night made it quite clear with the nuance of his voice and demeanor that he wasn't about to work past 7pm regardless of whatever hardship or misinformation I endured prior to speaking with him alone. Perhaps he doesn't get paid what he thinks he's worth and doesn't feel that doing a little bit extra is worth it at this job. If that is in fact true then I can't bring myself to direct anger or frustration toward him, seeing as he likely has troubles of his own and doesn't have the energy nor wherewithal to bother with the likes of me. Once was a time that things didn't work this way. A time I truly wish that corporate America could find the means to bring back exceptional service and...
