In the past Casa Maria has had decent food, marginal service, but we kept coming back, until our visit last night.
We got seated quickly, received our chips and salsa for free, it took at least 20 or more minutes to get our order taken, and then the food never came so we asked for more chips and salsa, and was told it will be an extra charge. That was ok except our food came over 30 minutes or more later so chips should have been included but that’s ok.
Then, our food came, and it was good and finally hot, which was great.
We asked for a piece of butter and we were told it would .25 extra, which was more than disappointing. When are you going to charge for seating or what else should we say? My goodness!!!! We asked to speak to the owner and she never came out. We went to pay at the counter after waiting 15 minutes for the owner and my husband asked the waitress if she was the owner, she said no I’m her daughter so we talked to her about the extra charges and how we haven’t ever been charged for butter before.
The owners daughter was defensive, very rude, and said welcome to 2022 we have to pay for everything so you do too. My husband said well you e just lost two customers and she said basically she didn’t care. If she could have had a better attitude, because we do understand about prices, but DONT over charge people and then be so rude and defensive.
Have some respect for your paying good customers because you may look back when your doors close and ask...
Read moreTheir patio dining, which is really 6 tables outside on the sidewalk in the front of their restaurant, is actually pretty comfortable given the hot temps these days. We have been regulars there for months now and we really like their food and service. However, we will not be returning due to 1 of their employees and his over the top restriction on masks. There were no other customers in sight, it was out in the the open air on the front sidewalk, we were just feet away from our table, and we’ve never been asked to do this before in the many times we’ve been there. This guy required us to wear a mask. We had to go back to our car to get them. Now granted, had it been indoors, or had there been other customers, I would have not been upset and would have just complied. This day, I actually would have left had we not been meeting our family there. City ordinance or not, this was over the top. You’d have to have seen the situation to really get what I was upset over. If you don’t mind this kind of restriction though, then like I said, the food and service is pretty good, but not...
