When my husband and I stayed at this location on 2/10-2/11 with our 2 dogs, both my husband and dogs were attacked by another dog staying at the hotel inside of an elevator. After the attack, the dog owner stated her dog is “dog-aggressive” and she can’t handle him. This situation was exacerbated by the fact that only elevators were available for use (the front stairs were under construction and the back stairs had no re entry, which caused this woman to HAVE to use the elevator to get back to her room with her aggressive dog. Not to mention, it was my understanding that all dogs staying at the hotel were not aggressive in any way, as we had to sign a form stating that when we checked in.
Thankfully, my husband walked away from the attack with a sore knee and cuts on his hand, but both of my dogs required emergency veterinary care including, sedation, stitches, and medications. So far, this has amounted to about $2000 in veterinary bills.
After this happened, management refused to remove the dog from the property that evening and we were afraid to come back. However, when we got done at the emergency veterinary hospital, it was near midnight, and surrounding pet friendly hotels had very limited availability due to an event happening that weekend. These circumstances forced us to stay the few hours in this hotel until we left early the next morning. None of us slept comfortably as we were all terrified and uncomfortable with the whole situation. We later realized, because we saw our own dogs’ blood on their door handle, that the aggressive dog was staying RIGHT ACROSS FROM US. No attempt was made to move either us or the aggressive dog so this wouldn’t happen again.
Additionally, around 1am, we were notified by security of repeated car break-ins and thefts at this hotel for over a week and we had to get all of our property and bring it up to the room with us.
Ultimately, this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel in my life and would never visit this location again, nor recommend...
Read moreMy wife and I have stayed at this LQ location several times in the past with good results. This past trip was no exception. We chose this LQ due to its close proximity to the Fresno airport and it's on the way to our vacation destination in Yosemite.
The staff members on each visit have always been friendly and helpful. On this visit, our TV would not turn on. We called the front desk, and a helpful member of the maintenance staff was at our room in less than 5 minutes. He quickly fixed the problem.
The rooms have always been clean, comfortable, and climate-controlled. Upon entering the room, the temperature was warm due to the 100+ degree outside temperature. But once we lowered the AC, the room quickly cooled.
The bath and shower areas were clean and well-maintained.
We were on vacation for 10 days and I'd say this LQ had the best breakfasts of our trip. Scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, gravy, bacon, waffles, biscuits, fruit, juice, cereal...well, just about everything you could want for breakfast. The eggs were only warm, but there was a microwave to heat them up. All in all, a really good breakfast that is included with your room.
We had an early morning flight on our return home to Illinois and this LQ is only a few minutes and a straight shot down Clovis Avenue to the airport. If you are going to Yosemite, it's a good place to start your trip if you get into Fresno late at night. The surrounding area and the parking area seemed very safe to us.
Over the years that we've stayed at this location, the hotel and rooms are just as good, if not better, than our first stay. So, they are doing a great job of keeping things updated. As I previously mentioned, the entire hotel staff is always friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this particular LQ and will definitely stay here again on our next trip...
Read moreOverall ok. Notes from my stay.
Bed was excellent med/med firm. Stayed on first floor. Remember to ask for end of hallway and no neighbors above or too side. Doors close too fast and make far too much noise. Toilets do not have slow close lids Shower pressure is medium Light bleeds under curtain TV requires long press on the enter button to bring up hdmi options for laptop connectivity.
15 min from fair grounds 5-7 min from Sierra vista
Decent hot breakfast with mediocre biscuits and gravy, egg beaters, bagels, and other small take ables.
Paid 125 per night for 2 nights s/s would do again for that price.
Parking was solid, you park under the hotel.
Elevator near but not lobby is ready to break.
Pho nearby was good. Other options close by as well.
Staff was friendly.
Second stay
Most likely will not stay here again, cost was 150 per night due to the rodeo being in town.
Ate at backyard social club, solid food and 2 minute walk
asked for a quiet room and they gave me the loudest one on property, by the street, next to the ice maker, then sandwhiched me with families with kids and people coming and going at 1-2 am. The slamming doors is a serious issue here and ive been to hotels that have doors that close correclty. Signage about keeping quiet or quiet hours really helps at other properties.
I will begin looking for a better hotel as this one simply does not...
