They ruined my great grandmother’s large garnet stones. I requested them to be “faceted” in a “brilliant” cut. I was very excited because these had been in the family for years and passed down three times. They stated their guy in LA could do that. They asked me what shape. I told them whichever shape of their guys choosing as long as it was “faceted”. That I trusted their judgement. They called me when their guy had them in possession and stated they would “absolutely” be needing a deposit. They did not tell me what cut their guy had chosen. I paid $500 for the deposit. To my horror when I went to pick them up, I was mortified that they had cut them into a cabochon cut. I started crying. The final bill, $1,600 mind you for 3 stones. Cabochon is the absolute CHEAPEST cut you can get!!! Cutting a stone ranges from $50-$400!! I was in shock. The only offer at the time was for me to choose three of their garnets to make up for it. Reluctantly, I chose three and ran out of there so I could go home and cry. I was devastated.
I tried to letting this go. It’s been a few months. I want to request a full refund and return the three faceted garnets they tried to smooth me over with to make up for the damages. I do not know where the breakdown in communication was (them or their guy in LA) but after having some time to think, my heart is still ABSOLUTELY BROKEN and torn over this. I received back what looks like half cut marbles and was overcharged for them. I’ve spent many nights just...
Read moreI bought some silver coins from this shop at a good fair price. There was a larger size coin left and i wanted to take that one as well. Unfortunately the price being asked was WAY over a fair value of the coin. The next day i returned to make an offer directly to the owner (Bruce). Soon as i asked about the large coin he realized i was the person that bought his coins the previous day, his attitude changed entirely. Soon as i made a cash offer instantly rejected the offer and yanked the coin from my hand placed back in the case and walked off. I really wanted that coin to go with the others i had bought with CASH the day before so i offered a little more, he rudely said, "no way". It seemed like he was not going to sell the coin to me no matter how much i offered out of spite or maybe some kind of prejudice. Sadly i just wanted to spend some money in his shop and now i will make sure never to give him a cent and do my best to tell others to...
Read moreI took a ring in to see about selling it, yellow gold, genuine stones, the guy there barely glanced at it, DID NOT use a loupe, and told me that the stone is synthetic!! I then asked the woman if I could exchange a solitaire stone in a gold setting within 1 mm size and before I could finish asking she began shaking her head no! I also asked about ordering a gemstone, and rather than answering yes or no I was told that the gemstone I asked about was very expensive, that answer had NOTHING to do with my question and NO ONE offered to look at some stones with me!! This experience was awful!! I will never do business with this local jeweler again!! Completely...
