Boba Fresh — Restaurant in Clovis

Very good looking shop, and my drink was acceptable, but this is not the shop for a quick grab and go.

I stopped by today, I was killing time while waiting for my wife’s food. The first thing I noticed was it was a nicely decorated shop. Nice furniture and they have games to play if you plan to stay and drink. The staff are very kind as well, and I appreciate that they have a kiosk for times when guests aren’t feeling like verbally ordering.

However, over $8 for a drink w/ tapioca balls is a lot. Additionally, their system immediately defaulting to a 20% tip was startling for me. If I ordered verbally, I wouldn’t be so surprised, but I was coming in to try something new and take it to go. The drink itself is okay, a little watery but the tapioca balls are good quality.

Overall, I do not recommend this shop unless you plan on staying and playing the provided games. The price is already high compared to other boba shops in town, and if you aren’t paying attention to what you’re doing on their kiosk you could find yourself paying nearly $10 for a milk tea. They have very delicious drinks! Their bobas are cooked well -- not too hard, not too squishy. Very creamy ice creams too! Whether you go for a drink or for ice cream, you wont go wrong with either.

Just not full stars for their food, or rather their lack of it. All they have are snacks that you can literally buy at an Asian market yourself, which is disappointing. I prefer snacks with more substance to eat with my boba tea, like maybe taiyaki, takoyaki, fries, calamari, popcorn chicken or maybe cake-y sweets other than macarons.

Not a huge detriment if you just want a drink/ice cream...

My first time here which I let the girl taking our order know. Super nice staff. Only thing was that they didn't say I had to specify if I was getting a strawberry shortcake drink or rolled ice cream so the girl made me a drink instead. She was willing to make me a rolled ice cream but I declined. I gave it 4/5 stars for food, because the strawberry shortcake drink just taste like vanilla creamer and strawberry puree.
