Unprofessional Service and Poor Customer Experience at Marshall's
I had a truly frustrating experience at Marshall's today when I attempted to return a gift with a gift receipt. I handed the receipt to the cashier, expecting a smooth return process, but what happened next was astonishing. Instead of providing me with a return card or merchandise credit, she gave me absolutely nothing. When I asked for a refund, she told me that she had refunded the original credit card the gift was purchased with.
This left me in an incredibly awkward position—now my friend knows I returned their gift, and I was left without any money to buy a replacement gift. I asked to speak with a manager, and to my surprise, the cashier said, "I am the manager, and we always refund to the original form of payment." She seemed completely uninterested in resolving the issue and was very distracted while processing my return, even speaking to someone on the phone during the process. There was no apology, and she insisted this was store policy, despite how unreasonable it was in my case.
Not only did she create an uncomfortable situation between me and my friend, but she also left me without the ability to buy something else to replace the gift. It was a bizarre and unprofessional experience, and I left feeling completely disrespected. I won't be returning to this...

But I do know that she left the store at 12:35pm on Saturday and that both the items are clearly on display in an endcap and wall hanging in store. The return policy makes no mention of price tags requirements and states I can return without receipt as long as I provide ID. However both the cashier and manager refused to accommodate despite me showing the matching product and the fact that my daughter was in store at that time. Now my 10 yr old daughter is upset that she spent ~$30 of her own, saved up money on a Fathers Day gift that I can't use. It's obvious that customer service and satisfaction is not a priority in here. They'd rather push an unpublished, internal policy than do what is clearly the right thing. And when questioned why, they insinuate that I'm trying to conduct a fraudulent return. Really for $30? I’m in my work clothes, ready to present ID and can provide details and evidence of a transaction. Does that have the recipe for a scam? I did without your store for years, so won’t be hard to never spend another dime...

They keep the cool people in the back from what I've been told from the people that work at the restaurant or they just might keep the crazy one back there. That's where they keep me as in the back.. but it's really great to see more stores coming into the North Plains mall it's very refreshing and it's bringing this place back to life thank you Marshalls for having great looking clothes and awesome people!
