My father, whom I am also care taker of and has parckisons desease amongst other disorders, went to Aldis to pick up some things, we were told at the door there was no water, well we saw that there were several cases of flavor water, and we be took two both, because even though we were shopping together, we are two separate homes and customers, we even stepped aside because two other customers saw the water and we did not want to be greedy. There were quite a few customers in the store and so I decided to get in line, even asking two ladies looking at side iteams if they were already in line, which they said yes, so we took our place in line, my father's came was in his cart. All of the sudden another cashier came out, says I can take whose next in line, and since our items were already in the conveyer belt, I said "Dad let someone behind us go, Seeing it would be troublesome for the two of us to pick up the cases move them in the carts and push threw the long line of customers that has accumulated. The cashier said " no your next I do t care what she says," grand my father where he almost falls over and he's staring at me bewildered. The cashier said something else towards me like you can bring his stuff, aggressively, while she had her hand wrapped around his arm to keep him up, this is not her job to grab my father and tell him what to do. I yelled he has pakinsons get your hands off him and had to rush to get him before he became more bewildered and either had a stone which I saw one coming on and or fell. She not only embarrassed me, but my father, and other customers were giving me hugs. We played separately. I got him home, placed an email complaint because to keep prices lower they say they have no techs to talk to. Than when I got him to sleep and calm down like I said, i went up to the store and talk to Lisa, and by this time it was taking me all not to break down, because when I left him he couldn't even recognize a door handle. She seemed concerned, but not towards me, and said she would look into it and asked if I had the receipt which I then told her I had already put in my email to corporate. Over 4 cases of flavored water, that two individuals, which the sales were rung up separately this cashier commuted aggravated assault and almost caused my father to go to the hospital, because he wanted to, and I would have taken him, but he did t want to be alone in the hospital during the up coming storm. My mother is going to bring the one receipt we could find, because I guess during the confusion my father or I misplaced the other, but it clearly shows only two flavor cases of water, up to the store after the storms because she works, as do I, while we take turns caring for my very I'll, and...
Read moreI love ALDI!!! They are a German company and are fashioned after European markets. They have a lot of European brands you can't get anywhere else which I love becuase they have less additives and preservatives than the US brands. Also, they have a great wine selection (an entire review by itself) but they have some Argentine Malbecs and Spanish wines that are fantastic!
They take CASH or DEBIT CARD only but they pass on the savings to the customers for not taking credit cards. UPDATE: they take credit cards now too.
You need to bring your own bags or you can buy them from them - another savings passed on to the customer
Their shopping carts use a Quarter to use but you get it back when you put the cart back - It is a cost savings in staff for getting carts out of the parking lot that they pass on to the customer
Though they have limited slection compared to the MEGA stores we all have used, they have quality in house brands that either rival or even beat some of the common name US brands. Also, they have limited housewares that they rotate weekly. FANTASTIC buys: I literally just bought a 36" x 48" x 14" chrome shelf unit for $11.99... It is identical to one I got at Home Depot for $49.99 last year. This is just one example.
Well worth...
Read moreYesterday a lady in front of me had a dog in a bag and proceeded to put that bag on the belt with her groceries. Then the cashier, who claimed to be the manger on duty, proceeded to pet and kiss the dog while the dog was on the belt. The cashier then attempted to ring up my groceries without washing her hands. When I asked her to wash her hands she and the dog’s owner looked at me like I was crazy. (At this point the dog was now on the counter where you bag your groceries.) When the cashier returned she attempted to put my groceries in the cart that had the dog; I asked her for a different cart. She stomped off pushing that cart away, grabbed another cart and shoved it over the register. I commented on her attitude and she argued with me that the dog is a service dog. I stated that was fine but the dog did not belong on the belt where people were putting their groceries! I questioned her attitude and she continued to argue with me. At that point, I mentioned that I was a frequent shopper, left my groceries on the belt and said I would shop elsewhere from now on. No apology...nothing - poor management. (had to give 1 star in order to post - does not deserve...
