Story time! I popped into Broadway Wine & Spirits today on April 8 2024, Solar Eclipse day. I was greeted by store owner Jason who commented that because I had sunglasses I could look at the eclipse. After I said no, he told me I could wear 2 pairs and it would be okay. I proceeded to tell Mr. Scalise that that would not be safe, and if I did that and injured my eyes, he and his business would then be liable for giving me that instruction and I could sue him. I'll quote out the remainder of the conversation

Jason: "I think you're just a millennial and that's the weirdest answer I've ever heard. What do you want?"

Me: "citrus Smirnoff"

Jason: "nips, a pint?"

Me: "a fifth"

Jason: "over on the left wall"

Me: "do you accept millennial money?"

Jason Scalise: "No"

Me: "Aight bet" *proceeds to leave the store and property immediately. Filmed a video review on the public sidewalk and then Mr. Jason Scalise called the cops because he didn't like me making a review of his business on public property.

I'm not happy with any of the interactions I've had with who I assume is the owner. Although I have previously returned despite my uncomfortable exchanges with him, I don't want to be asked 3 times where I'm going/if I'm going home after I leave the store and hear someone my own age call me "sweetie."
