Folklore & Fable Booksellers — Local services in Colchester

I visited Folklore & Fable during their grand opening weekend and it was awesome to see a great, local turn out to celebrate with them.

I was captivated by their layout and decor, particularly their charming wallpaper. Despite the crowded store, their expansive, black bookcases made browsing the books a breeze, even from a distance. They have a great variety of genres and a good mix of new releases, popular series, and timeless classics.

Located in Colchester's charming, walkable downtown. There's some street parking directly in front of the store, but plenty of free parking in the public lot behind the building.

Their friendly and welcoming booksellers quickly completed transactions to keep the line moving. It's so wonderful to see an author- and woman-owned bookstore open! Looking forward to supporting them again...

This is a wonderful, independent book store. My wife loves the selection and I'd have to say, the staff are quite friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a particular book that they don't have, they'll order it. Only usually takes a couple of days max. Honestly, it's places like this that make me realize how much better things are when everything is cozy and personal.

very cute and nice space! the store is small but well organized and easy to move around in with a little children's section in the back. and if they don't carry something you want, I believe the staff will help you order it.

I also had an issue with my purchase and the staff were super helpful and accommodating! there are also regular events and the owner is an author herself!
