I saw this place on TV last week, so I went with a friend on Saturday. We were the only two people in the restaurant when we first got there, and when we left, there was still no one else in the place. Maybe they knew something we didn’t. Pricing was astonishingly high. Lunch for two with a tip was $80. We ordered the Dublin Lawyer, the wild-caught fried scallop platter and tap water.
The food came out in those Styrofoam, takeout containers, with the cheapest of the cheap plastic utensils, 1 napkin, & 1 salt and 1 pepper packet per person. Tap water came in paper cups, no ice. Really?!? $80 and you can’t even serve on real plates with real forks, real knives, decent napkins, real glassware? This experience was an actual joke. We felt like we were being Pranked.
We were told that there is no salt and pepper on the tables due to Covid restrictions. Interesting, since all the other restaurants in town, serve on real dishes, with real cutlery, real napkins, and salt and pepper on the table. So when we wanted additional pepper, we were given another plastic bag with utensils, etc.
As for the food, first of all nothing was really warm, which is hard to believe since the kitchen is only about 20 feet from where we were sitting.
The $36 Dublin lawyer was lukewarm and lackluster. The fries were edible, but neither one of us finished ours.
The highlight was the wild caught scallops, which were absolutely delicious. If we had not ordered those, I would not have awarded any stars whatsoever. This was an incredible disappointment, as it would be really nice to have a great seafood restaurant here in town. Unfortunately, the...
Read moreWe tried the hot lobster roll based on the recent WFSB poll. I believe they were $38 each, which is maybe on the high side, but still fair compared to what we have paid at other seafood spots recently. I have to agree with the poll, I've been to all the places in CT known for their lobster rolls, and the Inishor roll was a good size and prepared very well. The lobster rolls are simple (that's a good thing), a good portion of lobster on a toasted buttered roll, and are served with coleslaw and fries. The fries were good; if I had any critique about the meal it would be that the coleslaw was too soupy and too salty, but that is a common theme at most places.
As others have mentioned, they were out of a couple regular menu items when we went on a Sunday afternoon, but we were there for the lobster, and they had plenty of that. I think this was the best lobster roll I can...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious lobster rolls. I tried all three! The only negative about thing i have to say in regards to the food is the sauce on the Dublin lawyer taste like Baileys Irish cream an whiskey but not in a good way.. If you're not used to drinking that first initial sting of alcohol that affects your taste buds will hit you and ruin the flavor of the lobster roll. And it's unfortunate because the lobster and steak are so good together. At the very least get the sauce on the side and try it first. The inside is awesome and so is the customer service but I don't think they have AC it's a very small establishment inside so with the grill going it gets extremely hot. It felt like 90° in there. Just sitting and sweating. But don't let this deter you because the...
