Blimpie — Restaurant in College Park

9/18/25 review BLIMPIE at 1509 Virginia Ave in College Park, Ga. I walked in & the African-American female with blonde braids proceeded to plop down in a nail-salon like chair that is in the sitting area & continued to talk loudly on her cell phone while I stood at the counter. After a while, she said "oh, I thought "she" was helping you". I don't who "she" is bc there was nobody else around. Again, had her phone in hand & tugging at her pants & shirt while walking behind the counter. She grabbed some gloves, touching all over the fingerpart. I immediately ASKED HER TO WASH HER HANDS & SHE IMMED BECAME DISGRUNTLED. She then asked me what I was ordering & as I was telling her the ingredients, she was doing the hand gesture as if to say "hurry up, what's next", as if I was taking too long to tell her what I wanted on the sandwich. You would've though that I knew the worker just by her attitude alone - it was horrible.

PUTTING SALIVA ON HER FINGERS - HIGHLY UNSANITARY/SPREADING DISEASE: The worker licked her fingers several times & after several attempts, she finally got enough SALIVA on them, only to get a plastIc bag to put the sandwich in. Instead, there should be A DAMP SPONGE NEXT TO THE REGISTER FOR THIS PURPOSE. I then advised her not to touch the sandwich with her nasty hands & she reached over the register & sat the sandwich on the dirty counter (w/o it being in a bag) where the customers out purses, phones, keys, etc down while ordering). By that time a non-English speaking woman (or maybe she was just quiet) had come out & the disgruntled worker said "Don't give her this sandwich until she pays". WHAAAT!!!! This worker was just all over the place at this point. I am just standing there (along with her co-worker) looking at her like she's crazy, bc 1st off I DON'T EVEN WANT TO TOUCH THE SANDWICH WITH YOUR SPIT ALL OVER IT..LET ALONE EAT IT...in addition to walking out with the oily sandwich (by nature) in my hand SINCE SHE DIDN'T GIVE ME OR ALLOW THE OTHER EMPLOYEE TO TRY TO REMAKE AND/OR GIVE A ME A BAG.

PROBABLY RELATED TO OWNER 2. OWNER WAS NONCHALANT ABT CONCERN I then asked for the owner's info & the female was quick to give the name as if she knew that she was not going to be reprimanded, which puts me under the impression that she may be related or friends with the owner, bc I can't see where a regular human who is trying to earn a living behaves in this manner. I CALLED OWNER, MICHAEL, this morning & ADVISED THAT I WANTED TO SPEAK TO HIM ABT AN ENCOUNTER WITH HIS WORKER. HE was too hellbent on why my # didn't show in his caller ID instead of listening to my concern. I just disconnected the call.

SANDWICH IS A DIFF PRICE EVERY TIME 2. THEY NEVER HAVE CHANGE TO GIVE BACK (so they say) This was my 1st time seeing this female employee. However, I have visited this location a few times in the past & it's always something. There have been at least 2 times where I give them cash & while giving me my change back, the worker said "Sorry, WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH CHANGE", as if that's my problem. Why are you even open for business & taking customer's $ if you know you don't have sufficient change to give back? The owner was even standing right there when the worker said it. Then there have been at least 3 times where the price of my sandwich has been different each time, even though I get the same exact sandwich every time.

I love the Blimpie brand & was excited that this store had a new owner bc there aren't many left, but this experience has been far worse than anything I've ever...

Worst possible experience. Blimpie is and always has been my go to place for a good sub since I was like 10. Wings and subs are my thing. Sadly, The heavier set woman working today has a very nasty attitude and demeanor. I watched her handle every customer before me with care. They were all older. I come forward and she puts one piece of meat and cheese on my sandwich and then had to top bun sloppily covered in mayo. I’m the kind of person that I cannot eat something that looks that way. I asked for my sandwich to be grilled because I LIKE THE PATTERN ON MY SANDWICH, well they put it in the panini press and it must not have been on because no pattern. I will be sure to keep all my friends and family OUT of this poor establishment. I even wanted the Parmesan bread or even herb and cheese the man keeps saying it’ll be later but it doesn’t smell like they’re baking even a wheat loaf of bread. They are liars. I have not tried my sandwich yet because honestly I’m scared. I will be returning to update my review if the food is a trashy as the service in this Blimpie. Craziest thing is I had been wanting this Blimpie in particular for a while just never got the chance to try it, and I guess I now see why. 0 stars if I could , do better and sandwich is like the easiest thing to prepare.

UPDATE: Just as I suspected, the sandwich was nasty and soggy. It could’ve been better if not so sloppy and if the bread didn’t...

This is a sandwich shop that was formerly known for great sandwiches and great service. However now it’s the worst!!!!!! The customer service is none existent, the woman behind the counter is rude and has a false since of entitlement. We just asked if they had sweet peppers, the look she gave was as if We just curse her moma out!!!!! Don’t waste your money or your time, get a Publix sandwich. No one should be subjected to that type behavior or demeaning. They even monitor the mayo, oil vinegar,salt,pepper. Closed this store down. We where spending money here 2 large turkey subs with Swiss always double meat running upwards $30.00 plus dollars and to be treated in such a manner is absurd!!!! Maybe after reading this post she will correct her errand ways and realize she needs us to continue to exist!! I’ll never patronize this establishment ever!!!!
