Soooooo i hate to give low stars, especially if im going to call someone out but... omg... WELL FIRST OFF.... I LOVED THE FOOD!!! I craved a something n they met the mark... BUT THE SERVICE!!!!! omggggggggg.... Rebecca was our server and well... she didnt make us want to come back. She was not informative or suggestive about the menu and in fact let us order 2 of the same dish (we didnt know it was the same thing n infact were trying to decide between it an another and she let us order it without explaining WE WERE ORDERING THE SAME THING!!! When i asked if we could exchange it for something else BECAUSE IT WAS THE SAME THING she said oh its already at the table... the dish was 15 bucks and we werent going to eat it because well WE HAD THE SAME DISH in a LARGER version.... At the same time my husband ask for a refill and in that moment, n not a moment before she informed us that our $3 tea and lemonade, that came in small wine glasses DIDNT GET REFILLS.... As i said the food was good but the 60 check left me a little ehhhhhhhhh... especially since 15 of it went to the dogs... Wont be going back...

Great Taste on the main dishes. If you can make beets taste good, you 🔥. The chickpea soup is ridiculously good. The broth in the Awaze Lamb is amazing. The Veggies were very appropriate & filling. The place is very clean and decorated to fit vibe. Restrooms A1. Since Iceberg lettuce is very cheap and basic, I could’ve had a bigger salad or better lettuce. It was flavorful due to their house salad dressing-very small wet salad. The place has a home feel with a bar. I took off a Star because there were no servers really, the greens are ok, lentils are very oily, spaghetti is basic and the Sambusa was not flavorful/too spicy. I felt like the owner was taking care of me. No one to greet you at front and took quite a while to get to our table. I’ve eaten here several times. The server was nice it just seemed like he had everything to do alone. I had to go find him to get To-Go Box & check. Rivals Desta Ethiopian kitchen. I would put more sauce in the spaghetti, revamp the baklava, greens, salad and the sambusa, reduce oil in red lentils.

Terrible experience. Made an Uber eats order, and walked in once I was notified that it was ready for pick up. I’m assuming it was marked ‘ready’, to align with the projected time given through the app, and to avoid any late penalties. Being that I had to wait at the bar for an additional 20 minutes for my food, I asked the bartender if there were any drink specials , or happy hour or anything at that time since I would be waiting a while. He replied “Nah” with his back facing me, and never said another word to me the entire time. I was not given a menu or offered anything else. He did not ask me if I wanted ANYthing, and never made eye contact with me or my sisters at all. Not even a cup of water. Being that I’m on vacation I actually was excited to spend some money in this place and support this black on business … absolutely Won’t be coming back. Now I see why this place was dead empty on a Saturday evening .. don’t waste your time here, there are much better restaurants in the area! This is trash!

The overall experience with Bole Ethiopian, was by far subpar. I ordered via Uber Eats, but contacted the merchant letting them know I’d be looking to cancel the order. The experience with Uber Eats was another story for another day. However, the restaurant staff at Bole Ethiopian lied and marked my order as completed/customer picked up, but never made my order.

My husband did visit the restaurant prior to them making the order, informing the owner that we no longer wished to wait for the order to be prepared as the wait time exceeded what was advertised on Uber Eats. They informed me, that in order to cancel my order I’d need to do it through Uber Eats. Not a problem. Uber provided a run around regarding cancellation. During the final conversation, they mentioned the restaurant marked the order as completed.

Surely, the owner knew that marking the order as completed would void out any possibility of receiving the refund as it appeared to Uber that my order was picked up. The owner then tried to make the argument that she would contact Uber in order to ensure the order was paid for, and I encouraged her to do just that. However, she knew that it was paid for the order, because her staff marked the order as complete on their end which triggers the payment process for a pickup order.

Did she ever call Uber? No. She did make the order and provided it to me in the end. Full priced meal, and still had to wait an extra 30-40 minutes for the meal to be prepared. Unfortunately, the experience was all around an inconvenience and how everything was handled is very much unappreciated.

The acts of the Owner and her staff was by far unprofessional and sketchy as they tried to get over on someone by lying and saying that an order was completed that was not so they can...

The food here is alright. I have been twice and had the veggie platter both times. It is a large enough portion that two could share if you got an appetizer, or you will have some left to take home. The issue with this place, at both their old location and new, is the service. The first time, I had to wait almost an hour for my food, a veggie platter, and there was only one other customer in the restaurant. Last night, at their new place, it was well over an hour for myself and two others for two combo platters. After initially bringing us water, the server never returned. I had to get up and ask for water, our check and to go boxes. There was also a birthday party or something going on in their event room which is adjacent to the dining room. It ruined the ambience of trying to enjoy conversation or your meal. The last straw is their poorly lit parking lot, where we had to use phones to see to get down the ramp to our car because the parking lot lights are almost all out. Hopefully they will get it together because there are a plethora of Ethiopian restaurants in Atlanta with better service and equally good or better food. I know Ethiopian food takes a little longer to prepare than other ethnic cuisines, but I never have this problem in the...

Disappointed with the service and food. We were not greeted and had to walk toward bar to be noticed. Waitress took forever to show up, and restaurant wasn't even three quarters full. Dry sambusas, bland flavors, and warm hot tea. They also had one side of the establishment that was yuppie-ish, and the other more Ethiopian styled. The yuppie side received better and more frequent service than the side we chose to dine in. What's more? Thing was, that when our shared dish came, the waitress actually REMOVED the serving basket. Oh, and if you're looking for the traditional Ethiopian salad (tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, and lemon (they use a vinegrette), ONLY choose the BOLE house special! The others have lettuce in them, even though the menu doesn't say so. Waitress would disappear for too long, no napkins, and they seemed to treat me as if I had NEVER eaten Ethiopian food and so, we should be satisfied with WHATEVER they brought us. I was attempting to give my family an Ethiopian dining experience. So much for that! If this is the same spot that was once in the tinier plaza just before that cemetery, they have fallen off EXTREMELY! Gentrification can cause serious...
