I was in town for the Taylor Swift concern and had five teenagers with me. My husband had reserved two rooms, 1 King suite and 1 room with two queen beds. When we arrived at around noon on Friday, April 28th, I checked in to see if there was a way for us to check in early. The front desk associate was manning the front desk and said that it might be a while but that she would take my name and number and call me as soon as one of the rooms opened. We came back around 1:45 and she was checking in another couple. I asked about my rooms and she said that she could do one of them (not sure why I didn't get a call as she was not busy). I explained my situation with the girls and asked her if we could get the rooms together (at least on the same floor) and she told me that that would not be a problem. She put me in our king suite and said that she would assign the other room close by as soon as it was ready. I told her that would be great as we wouldn't be back until after the concert (midnight or so).
When I returned to the hotel at around 1am, I asked to be checked in to my other room - which was on another floor- no where close to my other room. I explained to the night auditor that I could not have minors in a room on a different floor. She was able to get me a king suite right next door (not the 2 queens that I reserved). This was an incredible inconvenience at 1am when we were all tired. To top it off, the rooms were in dire need of a good cleaning and I didn't dare get under the sheets. The beds were incredibly hard and difficult to sleep on. My daughters found large stains on the pull out couch bed - it was not good.
We got up on Saturday to have some breakfast. The waffle mix was out so I politely asked the two ladies that were stocking the breakfast supplies if we could get some more. They didn't seem very happy with me for interrupting their conversation. Eventually one of them (older lady with glasses) said "it will be a while - I have to clean the container". I told her that was fine and she responded "at least five minutes". Ok, not a problem. When the waffle mix arrived, I started making waffles and my daughter came down to check things out. The same woman looked at her and said "you can't be here - you don't have shoes". Despite not seeing any sign about shoes being required, my daughter stepped back and was asking me to make her a waffle when the woman said again - louder "I told you you can't be here". My daughter then left the room. As I was making my waffles, apparently she didn't not like where I put my plate as she sternly told me I couldn't put my plate there - she then physically moved my plate away. I have never been treated like this in any hotel.
The final straw was when I was walking out of the hotel to load my bags in the car - I was at the door when the front desk associate called out - are you checking out, I need your room number. Wow....super classy.
Needless to say, I will never be setting foot in this property again. I have never seen a hotel staff more in need of some customer...
Read moreI am completely disappointed in my experience at the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson. I initially placed my reservation over the phone as my family was coming in from a flight later that day After being quoted a price and giving my payment information over the phone. I made my way to the hotel to reserve my room. Upon my arrival, the front desk clerk was in a conversation with someone while counting cash. She informed me that I was interrupting her counting and asked for me to wait a sec for service.
After about 5 minutes she asked how she could help me. I gave her my information and then she pulled up my over the phone reservation. To my dismay, the price that I was quoted over the phone was not honored and over $90 more than what I was told. I was then shown a piece of paper that had a deposit amount written on paper to explain the change in price. Because my family was headed out on a 15-hour road trip the next morning and I was quite tired from traveling all day with three little ones.
I accepted the room after asking several times if there was a pool that was operable at the hotel. I was assured that the pool was fully functional and that our family would be able to enjoy the amenities, including a workout room and breakfast in the morning before we left out on the road. After my payment was processed I was then told that the pool was actually closed for the next hour. The pool remained closed for the duration of our stay, except for 1 hr before close.
My children were devastated after traveling by plane all day and then leaving the next morning for a 15-hour road trip. We were all looking forward to a nice workout and swim session before hitting the road. When we woke up dressed for the pool we were told that the pool would not be open. There was no issue with the pool. There was no cleaning or maintenance scheduled, only that they were not opening it. Even more disappointing was that the breakfast that was to be served from a specific time ended 30 minutes earlier than expected.
The best part of the trip was the house cleaning staff. They were extremely kind. Provided some options for my children as far as swimming and breakfast nearby they extended. Sincere apologies for our unfortunate circumstances during this day and also provided additional towels and soap that were not initially included in our room.
All in all, I feel that I was cheated out of my money and an experience to relax with my family before taking a long road trip. I wish that there would have been more professionalism, kindness and accuracy as to booking. While my room was a king suite that did accommodate all of our sleeping needs, We did not have all of the towels, soap or washcloths for the members of my family and had to call down for more which was never sent up and we end up seeing an attendant in the hallway who was more than apologetic. On behalf of the hotel staff, The front desk persons seemed to be overwhelmed and disinterested in doing their job efficiently. Not very kind or apologetic about the pool situation. I would not...

Let me tell you the story of Golilocks and the 3 rooms.
Goldilocks checked into this hotel at 3:10pm to be told, "no rooms were ready yet". Check-in was at 3pm. It was a Thursday. In March.
Upon receipt of her card key, Goldilocks traveled to her first room. She walked past a homeless woman cleaning her clothing in the laundry room and a housekeeper listening to explicit music on a speaker in the middle of the hallway.
Goldilocks opens her first room - the smell of weed is overpowering. With no working (or perhaps non-existent) bathroom vent and windows that are glued shut, there will surely not be enough time for the smell to dissipate before her 2 year old enters the room. The windows are noticeably scratched, or potentially shattered.
Goldilocks walks back downstairs, over carpet that had never met a vacuum, to obtain the keycard for her second room.
The second room is much cleaner, and void of any smells, but there is a large glass splinter in the window. As if someone tried, and subsequently failed, to open it. Certainly this wouldn't work for Goldilocks or her 2 year old either. Glass shards are definitely not safe.
Frustrated, Goldilocks received the keyboard for and enters her third room. No smell, no broken glass - it works. However, the room has no working exhaust, the bathroom door does not shut, nor lock, there are blood stains on the curtains, the back of the bedroom door is covered in residue, and the mirror has a large sharpie mark through it.
It will do.
That night, Golidlocks laid in bed to find multiple hairs belonging to someone that wasn't currently in the room with her. Upon further inspection, it appeared that the sheets had not been cleaned. Furthermore, she realizes the sink does not drain, leaving stagnant water sitting there for a few hours before bed.
The next morning, Goldilocks is treated to a continental breakfast - and a show. She watches as three police escort a man from the property for getting into an altercation with a worker over breakfast utensils.
The next morning, Goldilocks is told of someone that awoke the same morning to find that their car has been broken into the night prior.
On her last night, Goldilocks was putting her 2 year old to bed, only to be met with back-to-back calls from the front desk informing her that soemone had complained about noise coming from our room. At 8pm - on a Friday night... she was merely changing her toddlers diaper.
The rest of the evening Goldilocks spent quietly watching TV, enjoying the ambiance of the children outside her door running up and down the hallways all night long screaming.
Pros: Staff is attentive and friendly. 6 minutes from the airport Free parking Located next to the best cajun food I've ever had outside of NOLA Indoor pool - but it's a salt water pool. We didn't swim in it. Relatively inexpensive compared to those in the city...
