After purchasing a keepsake ornament over the phone, the manager of the store graciously held my ornament for a week until I could pick it up! On Sunday 10/10 my family and I drove from Waco Tx to College Station a 2 hr drive. The ornament i purchased was sold out online. We arrived at 11:55, and while waiting outside my husband mentioned the lights were not on, as I turned a lady with a bag of donuts and a cup of coffee was fumbling for key and let a big huff!! I told my husband to step aside, she was right behind him. Making small talk he asked if she need time to set up? She huffed again and stated we don't open until 12. While unlocking the door my daughter was trying to help her, but she just gave her a hateful look, and acted as if my daughter was going to go in behind her. My daughter was just shutting the door for her.
We waited our 4 minutes, then she unlocked the door, with out any kind of welcome. I followed her to the register, she kept her back to me, I waited a few moments, then explained why I was there. After looking in a drawer, and being unsuccessful at finding my ornament, another employee told her it was in the office with my name on it. When she returned with it, I asked if they did the punch card rewards...she said yes. I handed her my card and she noted that it was different. Then replied I had to start a new card, I was ok with that, and asked her to transfer my other 4 stamps, and she told me not...she wasn't allowed....I said ok and walked out. Then I went back in to get the new card, the hallmark store I normally shop at always combines them ever year, so I was going to just take it to them. As I asked her for the card, she told me she was texting her manager, I said no worries, I would just take the new card. The. She rudely stated...well the other store can just combined them.
My family and I buy ornaments every year from Hallmark, usually the keepsake ones. I was greatful that they help on to my ornament for a week, and was planning on purchasing the rest of the family's ornaments that day....instead I walked out! I didnt want to support a store that was so unwelcoming!!!!
I will return to my normal Hallmark store from now on!! They are always very helpful...

Update: March 10th, 2022.....Tammy said she's in the store every day until 5:30....Not here today Thursday at 3:15. Molly had to call her to verify "my story" from 2 weeks ago. She didn't have the capability to accept my return of items worth $12.00. About a 10-15 minute wait. Was ok and used that credit. Only 2 staff, one didn't know how to use the register and the other managed to get it done after another 10 minutes. Obviously, staff are not familiar with returns. FYI. Make sure IF you buy something, don't expect to return it. Not worth the hassle.
Read Jennifer's review from 11 months ago...Very glad I did. She reports exactly same problem with Tammy re: over phone and different in-store conversation. Except she traveled TWO, that's 2 hours one way from home to Hallmark CS.

Read moreI will start with the good, very clean, organized, and super cute things... leading into what I did not like about the store. I walked into the store with my daughter and was kindly greeted and asked if I needed help..I told her we were just shopping while my boys were getting there hair cut. I've always loved Hallmark merchandise and the nostalgia it brings... But one associate was kind, but rude in her consistent interference with our little Hallmark moment I was trying to have with my daughter... honestly she made me uncomfortable and made me feel like I didn't want to look around and shop...over all I picked a couple of items and left but It ruined my shopping experience...very rare that I get to spoil one kid at a time....so I just opted to spend my time shopping at Kroger...
