I am writing this review to express my disappointment with the customer service experience my wife and I had at Kroger in College Station.
We visited the store just after 8 pm today, July 20th 2024 when the seafood counter closes. Despite arriving right after closing time, the seafood was still on display, and the employee behind the counter was just beginning to put away the meats.
I politely waited for the young man behind the counter to come over and then asked if I could get a crab from the selection. Despite the seafood being right in front of us and the counter just having closed, he absolutely refused to accommodate my request. This was particularly upsetting as I needed the crab for my pregnant wife, who had a specific craving.
The employee's refusal to help, despite the minimal effort it would have taken to assist me, left me extremely disappointed and frustrated. The level of customer service provided was far below my expectations. If this had been HEB, I am confident that I would have received the assistance I needed without any hassle.
To add to my frustration, I did not see any managers around to address my concerns at the moment. This incident has made me regret choosing Kroger over HEB and has significantly impacted my view of Kroger's customer service standards.
I sincerely hope that this employee receives proper training on customer service to prevent such disappointing experiences for other customers...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went in at about 7pm and literally every worker was either rude or ignored me. I was trying to find a specific product and I couldn't find it, so I went to ask a worker and she ignored me. So I went to the help desk before 8 (which is when they close) and she told me "I'm closed" immediately. I then asked if there was anyone else I could ask about finding a product and no one had any idea nor did they even know if they could check the system. Then when I went to check out, the cashier and the bagger were talking to each other nonstop and barely acknowledged me. There was an awkward silence with the cashier staring at me and I assumed it meant it was time to pay so I looked over to his screen to see the total and that's when he finally told me the total and I paid. I thanked them and got no response until I thanked the bagger who responded but looked more annoyed that I interrupted their conversation about beer. This was my first time at a kroger and it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to preface this review by expressing my genuine appreciation for Kroger. Having worked for Kroger myself, I truly believe they are one of the best grocery stores around. With our workplace in close proximity to this Kroger, it has become a very convenient stop for us. In fact, we shop at Kroger on average 15-20 times per month. They often have great deals, and the vast majority of the employees work very hard and are always happy to assist.
However, there is one downside we have experienced. On at least a dozen occasions, we have seen team leads and other management publicly reprimanding employees. As customers, my wife and I have witnessed managers in these stores (including one particularly unsettling incident involving a Team Leader nearly yelling at an employee in the cheese section). These incidents made not only us uncomfortable but also those around us.
Despite these concerning observations with management, Kroger remains our favorite...
