Freebirds World Burrito — Restaurant in College Station

I can't believe I'm saying this, but this restaurant has just earned the highest rating I've ever given. The food was off the charts, with the jalapeno sauce, steak, toppings, tortillas, and chips blowing my mind. The queso was a bit lackluster in my opinion, but everything else more than made up for it. Dip the chips in their jalapeno sauce instead of queso!

The service was top-notch, with the entire crew being incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The manager was a pro at upselling without being pushy, and her enthusiasm for the food was contagious. She even talked us into getting an air fryer from Walmart - now that's some serious business skill. We got to respect that...

The atmosphere was also excellent, with everything being kept clean and well-maintained.

At $24 for a monster burrito, medium drink, chips, and queso, I was more than satisfied. I overate because it was just that good. That meal could've been split in 2. At $12 a meal, this place easily earns a spot at the top of our list at home.

I love freebirds. I will only eat their burritos, I’ll go to Chipotle for a bowl. I’m a traditionalist, so I like a freebird on white, Spanish rice, beans, steak and other. We live closest to this location, but I think if we get it again we will go elsewhere.

The last couple of times I’ve placed my order beforehand thinking it would be faster. It wasn’t. This last time my order was made incorrectly, and I waited 30 minutes for the order. The app told me it would be ready in 15 minutes, so 45 total.

I mentioned that I saw the guy make it and he put the incorrect items on one of the burritos. She was the manager (very nice and helpful), and remade both burritos and gave me the incorrect ones as well as a free drink. I appreciate this immensely, just frustrated in the wait. It’s not the first time this has happened. I think I’ll have to just place the order through the line again.

Cannot get enough! Steak is melt in your mouth and I don’t know what they put in their refried beans but they are addictive! I try to be keto but man this place is making it hard! I know I could get a bowl but the burrito is just too delicious!

The only feedback I want to give is about customer service. If you want to take it to the next level look for things beyond the register to help with. I came in with my 2 year old son in my arms and wasn't offered help grabbing a high chair or my drink. This isn’t something most people would even expect which is precisely why it would make for a great customer service moment. I only noticed that it didn’t happen because I am a manager in the food industry and we train our staff to look for things like this. You guys are doing great and I love the food and vibe, just some advice...
