I really wish I could give 5 stars but the service here is just really bad. I've been probably 7 times and twice now they have completely messed up the order on skewers (which take a very very long time to come out, approximately 20 minutes it seems). Mess ups happen but when it takes almost 45 minutes to get your food, I feel like you need to figure out a better system.
Another major concern that has happened every single time (which is annoying considering I'm always ordering spicy options) is that you will get a single glass of water and that cup will not be refilled unless you ask which is also a pain because the staff are not often checking to see if things are going alright. Im not asking for crazy service when I go out to eat but I would say the norm for every restaurant I have ever been to was to at least keep water glasses full.
The final straw, however, was when I went in most recently. We were not given any silverware, chopsticks, or napkins. Ordered 2 appetizers that come with sauce and was only given one dipping sauce total which is far from enough for the dish. When asking for the other sauce, it did not make it to the table until the meal was effectively done. I ordered skewers again and while my chicken ones were correct, the tofu ones my date ordered were seasoned wrong and not edible for her (again). After finally talking to the wait staff and informing them, we were brought a dipping sauce of teriyaki (flavor that was in fact ordered) but informed that management said there would be no remaking of an incorrect order but a discount could be added to the bill if we wanted. I'm not sure why a replacement wasn't made so instead we ordered the correct food, again, and waiting for it to come out. The bill was not adjusted properly so we still ended up having to pay for the skewers we did not order/eat plus the new ones we were forced to order in order to correct their mistake. I don't see why this options was even presented. Least of the issues was that the sauce brought out for us seemed very off in flavor.
I will say that the waitress seemed very nice but I feel like management is letting her and others down by not training them well enough. I'm not sure honestly and don't want to point fingers if I don't actually know the situation, it just feels like that might be the case.
Probably won't be back again or at the very least I won't be dining in just because of the insane wait time for foods and lack of water. And as i have seen whoever is in charge or remedying the online complaints just says sorry but offers no motivation other than "we will look into it" and it seems the problems still persist. It's very sad because the vibes are very cool and the food (when correct) is fantastic.
TLDR: consistent food being wrong, long wait times, lacking server interactions, and confusing...
Read moreI am a very picky eater (not by choice) and I liked it a lot! I got the shouyu ramen. Not only was the broth great, but I liked all the toppings too, even the mushrooms! I couldn't finish it in the restaurant due to my anxiety of being in public spaces. Took it home and reheated it a few hours later- the noodles weren't soggy or swollen at all! Honestly don't know how they did that. Although the chicken and pork didn't taste as good as they did fresh, but that tends to be the case with reheated meat, and you're not likely going to wait hours before reheating and eating the food there anyways...
My older sister got the tonkotsu ramen, which she let me try the broth of, and it was also great. Although the shouyu ramen was more aromatic. It had a smoky smell to it. The tonkotsu was simpler. It's down to preference, but I was glad I picked the shouyu one. My twin sister got chicken curry which I did not try, but she said it was good and that she'd eat it again or even make it herself at home. Eat it fast though- the breading can become soggy if you take too long.
I am 90% sure the tables were clean, but they seem to naturally have a sort of... sticky texture to them? I think it's the polish they used. So just be warned of that. If your table is sticky, I don't think someone just spilled their soda on it or anything like that, the tables are just like that.
The service was normal. The server was nice and the food came out at a normal pace and we were checked on frequently enough.
The prices were also pretty good. Not the cheapest thing ever, but it was about... I think 14 dollars? For my ramen. It can be a LOT more expensive than that. I think it's a good price, especially considering how good the food is. If we were talking about mall food or something like that it'd be different, but this food is VERY good. The most expensive items were about 20 dollars. The least expensive were less than 10.
They also had Halloween decorations up. They were subtle but they were there- very fun.
As for noise levels, because this matters to me. It's middling. Not super loud but not serene quiet either. There IS music playing and you can obviously hear people talking and working. I mention this because I've gone to a few dead silent restaurants before, and those are good for people with anxiety or sensory issues. This isn't a dead silent restaurant, but it's not deafening to the point you can barely talk to the person in front of you either like some...
Read moreIt's such a shame that one server can ruin a good ramen spot.
I've been here multiple times and the waitresses have always been so kind and attentive. Unlike today, our waitress kayla was annoyed from the start and lacked basic customer service or quite literally any kindness.
She "greeted" our table with a blunt, "do you know what you want?". Which set the tone for how her attitude will be towards us the whole evening.
She set down our drinks very aggressively and would not respond back or even acknowledge us when we would say thank you. She also set down our bowls very aggressively which made us both very visible uncomfortable.
We kindly asked for chopsticks but did not realize they were on the plates on the far side of our table. Without saying a word she pointed to the chopsticks and we laughed at our mistake and apologized for the dumb question. She proceeded to walk away and roll her eyes like we had asked her if there's noodles in ramen.
At this point we're just trying to enjoy our day and enjoy our food, that we've had for maybe 10 minutes, before she comes up and asks us if we needed any boxes. I feel like we were obviously not close to being done with our food so this just came off very rude. She ends up asking again a little bit later but we were still not finished.
Mind you we were only sitting at this place for barely an hour and that includes waiting for food. And the place was not packed or even busy so I dont understand the need for trying to turn over tables quickly other than you don't want us there.
We should not have to be discussing what we could have possibly done to piss off our waitress before she had even greeted our table or talking about how rude she was to us the whole time. As someone who is probably the same age as this girl the "gen-z" stare is not an excuse for you to be outright rude. Represent...
