Loving all the changes to the Collegeville store. I've always liked Redner's for their selection and superior pricing when compared to other chains of similar or larger size. Redner's is down to earth, and you can feel their Pennsylvania routes with some of the products they stock. The store is always clean, and the staff friendly. You can truly one stop shop at Redner's, from produce, meats, dairy, deli, groceries and household items, to now their great selection of takeaway, ready to eat items, which includes alcohol sales in you partake. If there is a philosophy at work there, its simple, great environment, best, if not lowest pricing possible, and a large selection of offerings to choose from. The Collegeville store in particular feels upscale and modern, but not pretentious. It is true Americana, exemplifying what "service" meant once upon a time. Today it still does. If there's a Redners near you, its well worth a visit to see what youve...
Read moreI used to put my small electronic personal mobility device safely inside the store to briefly go shopping there often. I went there today and got called out in a loud and disrespectful voice by several employees like I did something really terrible. They said I have to put it in the lobby. The location makes zero sense at all, and was not in the way of anything or at type of safety hazard at all. They just gave me a hard time for the sake of giving me grief and aggregation. Since the suggested location wasn't safe to leave something of that value, and I didn't think I would need to bring a lock, I nicely asked if they could be rational and reasonable and let me put it there for 10 minutes like I always do. After I said I'm never shopping there ever again (I've been going there since they first opened in the 1980s), they said they'll watch it for me. I don't let strangers watch my property. I'm never ever going back...
Read moreI frequent Redners because they are around the corner from my house so it's convenient and never too crowded. Their prices are good and the staff is friendly.
However, their produce department is disgraceful. 9 times out of 10, the fruit and vegetables are rotten, shriveled or well on their way. I do not buy any produce there other than bananas that are green and easy to tell ripeness. I have picked up oranges only to have my finger go through, or brought home a bag of apples to find rotten once opened. Today I was there and needed one avocado for a recipe. I picked through every one on the cart, and couldn't find one fruit that was useable. Everything there was black, mushy and over ripe. I understand that the produce doesn't move as fast as a large megamart, but the quality of Redner's produce is inedible in many cases. I find it really a shame that I have to take a separate trip to another store if I...
