We saw the reviews but felt we would give it the benefit of the doubt, considering they are located in an upscale area. We assumed according to our experience that upscale typically means higher moral standards and integrity, or at worst-professionalism. WRONG. We bought some furniture pieces from here and as far as that goes, we're content with our purchases. However, we also asked them to sell some pieces for us and found out ALL the reviews about getting your money back are TRUE STORIES!! We are now one of those very unhappy and disappointed ex-customers and simply want to give you fair notice. They gave us a ridiculous runaround for our money back! Yes, their policy states that the seller is responsible for staying on top of the sale, but the sellers keep them in business and the sellers should be treated with more respect. During one of my many follow up calls, one of their employees (an older woman) berated me without even knowing that I was calling for the umpteenth time. She never asked questions, simply began preaching their policy, asking "Did you READ the policy? Didn't you SIGN the policy agreeing to our terms? Honey...did you Understand what you signed?" Obviously there is some underlying agreement to their policy for selling your furniture, and that pretty much means that they can do what they want-how they want-IF they want. Our entire experience took WEEKS before we finally got our money back. We were even shorted and I had to call back for the rest of it-and they acted as if it was an innocent mistake? Makes me wonder, how many people have gotten shorted and never called back? The Consignment Gallery are not professionals, nor care for true customer service. None of this is embellished. In fact, I've left out many details to corroborate further, but simply want to warn you-WATCH THEIR...
Read moreI’ve bought several items here over the past few years and have been happy with the quality and the price. This last time was different, however. I inquired about a piece that I believed to be overpriced, and was shown a listing of a similar shelf on 1stDibs. I did my own search and found an identical item - not just a similar one - that sold for much less than the marked price at the store. The pieces that were being used as a pricing comparison by the store weren’t equivalent: the store item is a reproduction, with obvious chips and buckling of the veneer. There’s even a modern “Made in China” sticker on the back. Instead of accepting that they might have made a mistake, the manager was extraordinarily rude, dismissing my concerns with a pompous “I’ve been doing this for many years” statement before storming off. I was willing to negotiate what I believe to be a fair price and asked them to call the consigner to see if they would accept this as the item was on final markdown. Nope. The manager chose to belittle me and deny the consigner a sale. I will never step foot in that store again, and I’ll advise my friends to...
Read moreThis is the worst store ever. My parents stated they wanted to Purchase a mirror that was hanging on the wall. upon the sales rep pulling down the Mirror they damaged the mirror. they continued to run the credit card that they had on file for my parents and charge the account anyway. My parents had told the sales rep if it is damaged I do not want the item ahead of time. the sales rep not only didn’t listen to their needs but continued to charge my parents credit card and take advantage of elderly people. I called to speak with a manager they would not give me one. After hanging up on me several times, even the owner would not speak with me. a girl pretended to be the owner and said that my parents supposedly agree to something that they didn’t and she refused to refund the money. I will never go to the store nor will I recommend anyone else to go to the store they are thieves as They still have my mothers mirror and her money!!!! I’ll be filing with the better business...
