The food is pretty great & customizable-- especially for picky, allergic or gluten free kids. Everyone gets exactly what they want. Their pico, guac & homemade tortillas are yummy. During the school year, we go almost every week before piano lessons, and it takes some of the sting out of that for my boys. It's a great chain from out West & we've eaten CV for at least a decade. Sometimes the Colleyville staff becomes a little overwhelmed by the crush (it gets a bit messy & occasionally they miss something in the order) but they are super nice & they fix it quickly. I ordered the Barbacoa pork salad exclusively for the first 10 years (at CV & Café Rio, the original chain) but the chili beef is also crazy good. Kids love custom tacos, burritos, chips & queso and I love the custom salad -- with house tomatillo ranch dressing -- but the chicken tortilla soup is strangely hit or miss, flavor-wise. Sometimes it's a bit watered down. It's one of our favorite places around Colleyville Keller Southlake Grapevine. I wish they had the mint limeade Café Rio has, because that's my favorite. Or even caffeine free diet. Here is a birthday tres leches in the restaurant. It has a cool, surfer, beach vibe.

3.5/5 I got the chicken quesadilla and my boyfriend got the sweet pork quesadilla. The portions of the meat were very very skimpy. They barely put any chicken or pork on our quesadilla. I also noticed that they don’t use grilled chicken anymore. They use chicken that has been sitting in sauce. With that being said, it was still really good. The rice and beans, not so great. My boyfriend got the brown beans and I got the black beans. Both were bland and had no taste other than just beans. The rice was also super bland. We tried the mango habanero salsa. You’d think it would be spicy, right? Nope it was sweet and had absolutely no kick to it. I’ve been coming here for years and the quality has gone down significantly. Very expensive for what you get. We both felt very rushed as well. We took the food to go.

I haven't been here in years and decided to give it a try again today. I did online order with curbside pickup. That went smooth. The guy was nice who brought the order out. My order total was over $22. I get home to find the attached picture. Taste wise, it's like I remember, decent. Price wise, not worth what I paid for two tacos, rice and beans. The tacos don't have hardly any meat on them, hardly any lettuce and includes only 2. 3 would be reasonable especially if they aren't going to have much meat on them. For almost $10. The steak bowl is so small for almost $12. Very odd. At least the dish for steak bowl could be as big as the dish they give for the taco entree. Not really impressed. Hopefully it’s just a fluke because I wouldn’t mind going back.

Really good food! We go here every couple months - it's 3 hours from our home so we get to see the turn over of employees and differences in service. This last time was a little disappointing...not much, but a little. I had to repeat myself a lot even though the order was simple: 3 sweet pork salads with black beans, 'everything' on it ranch dressing. This is a standard order, here. Nothing fancy, nothing customized. But I had to repeat it...a lot. And the guy was pretty skimpy on the meat. I had the keep asking him for a little more meat, which they charge 'extra' for. In the end, I had to pay for extra meat on them all just to get a detectable amount of pork. Other than that, food is good, the place is clean. I'm not super thrilled with the atmosphere. There aren't any booths and I personally don't appreciate tables - someone always runs into one of our party with their purse, or runs their chair into our backs. But, it's simply a seating preference.

It also draws a mixed crowd - mostly high school/college aged crowd...the kind that are too silly to wear something other than crotch-length shorts with a heavy coat and scarf... in 40 degree weather. Maybe it's because I'm a 42 year old mother of four teenagers and I just don't understand this 'style' - but I'm no grandma, and my own kids state at them like they are nuts. Along with this 'style' comes an 'I dont give rip about you' attitude, which contributes to a less than cozy atmosphere. The food is really good though, and you can always do take-out! The horchata has FREE REFILLS, and the tres leches cake is fabulous =) Despite my complaints, this place is truly, very good and always deserves a 4 or 5 star review because the food is exceptional and you get good portions. If you have a problem, they'll address is - management is very professional and understanding... but that's a story for another...

I cannot sing enough praises about this location! The workers, the food, the building, their customer service- it’s all SO good! We’ve been to other locations and they just don’t measure up. We’ve eaten other “coastal texmex”, and it just doesn’t measure up!! We even had this Costa Vida location cater our wedding because we love them so much! Our 4-year-old son would eat Costa day and night 7 days a week if we would let him, and so would we. We’ve been obsessed ever since we first tried it, and we always know that if we’re meeting with friends or family for lunch or dinner, we’re going to Costa. Also, Brandon that works there has been SO kind to us- he has gotten to know our family, even family that lives out of state! He always asks how we’re doing and how our family is doing- he remembers everything about us and is so kind to stay updated. We do our best to stay updated on his life, too! With the quarantine, we sure do miss our Costa family, but luckily we haven’t had to miss our Costa food! We cannot wait to be reunited with our beloved Costa and...
