MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes — Restaurant in Colleyville

First of all, I normally enjoy eating at this location & prefer it over any other I've been to. That said, my experience yesterday afternoon 3/29/24 made me very uncomfortable. I was there for a late lunch between 3 & 4 pm. There was another family in the restaurant when the incident occurred.

Evidentally the cook made a mistake on my order of chips to go with my burger. When my burger was delivered I was told by the woman who took my order that she was going to have to remake my chips because the cook messed them up.

The cook - an older Hispanic lady - was loudly "dressed down" by the younger woman when she returned to the kitchen. She was yelling at the cook telling her if she wasn't going to do her job she just needed to go home. I don't know if there have been a series of mistakes by the cook, possibly a language barrier, but it didn't warrant the treatment she received in the hearing of those of us in the dining area.

It was very disturbing and uncomfortable and unprofessional. If someone makes a mistake you take them aside and correct them. It was totally inappropriate the way the younger woman handled it.

The cook came out and tearfully apologized to me for the mistake. She was obviously quite upset. Evidentally this was not the first time she had been yelled at.

When the chips were done the cook brought them out. The younger woman looked out into the dining area a couple of times but never came back out, except to take another order.

I will be back but wanted management/owners to know what happened. I hope I never experience that kind of...

I love the food here. But as a location this place has been falling off for a while. The food is still very good. Love the burgers and the fries, it's the cleanliness of the restaurant that has taken a nose dive over the past few months. The past 5 or 6 times I've been in here, it's been between 3 and 5pm. Im the only one in the dining room every time. If the tables don't have bits of food on them then they're sticky. The floors in front of the register is ALWAYS sticky. Not too mention many other spots in the dining area. Im an amputee with a prosthetic leg and my foot sticking to the ground almost caused to me fall. None of the 3 guys behind the counter did anything about the stickiness until 20 minutes later when an older man and woman came in and commented at the register about how disgusting and sticky the floors were. And instead of getting a mop and cleaning the whole dining area, one of them just grab a spray bottle and a paper towel and spot cleaned where i almost fell and the woman was standing. There is so much food under every booth you could build another burger with it. It's no wounder there's always flies flying around in here with the amount of food on the floors. It's probably scary behind these booths. I shudder to think what the kitchen looks like if this is how you present the dining room. On a side note, every time i order food for pick it, they put the fries at the bottom of the bag and by the time i get home i have flat soggy fries. I’ve been eating at Mooyah for quite a time, but today was beyond amazing service!! The service by their staff and level of TRUE customer satisfaction is exceptional here at Colleyville. They make your food the way you want it. If there’s a mistake they fix it, and make it right. As a business owner myself, in the service industry I find the Colleyville Mooyah experience better every time. Today’s misunderstanding was entirely my fault (find a customer to claim that on a review lol), yet ‘beyond service’ for me was given. First, the Mooyah app was not working as I had a coupon to use on the app before expiry. They honored it for me via phone carry-out order. Second, I was under the impression the amount of fries I was to receive with my order and instead of making me feel dumb or say no, they made more fries for me and gave me a 15% for my next fries order. They were not rude or rolled their eyes, though it was my misunderstanding of the amount of fries I chose. It may sound silly that I didn’t know what I ordered, but it was nearly 10hrs without a lunch break and no food yet, so it was a welcomed blessing to be treated so kindly, in spite of my misunderstanding. Third, this place is one of the cleanest burger places I could eat at. 😁 I love that. So yes, try Mooyah in Colleyville for the customer service experience alone I say, you then will expect that every where you go lol 😂!! Thank you Mooyah...
