I do not give five stars lightly, but this place is absolutely amazing. The interior is relaxed and inviting, there's a nice patio seating area if you want to sit outside. We had a reservation for our anniversary and we were seated promptly in our choice of seating, rather than just taking us to a spot. First let's talk about the food. They brought fresh warm Rosemary bread to the table and we ordered salads. The house salad for my wife and a caprese salad for myself. The house salad was a wonderful mix of greens and a great dressing the caprese salad was kind of clumsy, but in a rustic sort of way that made it very inviting. My wife had the penne vodka, it was maybe the best I've ever had. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was creamy and delicious the pancetta was Smokey which is a little unusual for pancetta but added such a delicious note to the dish. Just enough crushed red pepper to make it very interesting but not too spicy. I had the gnocchi as my pasta course and and ask them to split the order in half with two different sauces which state did for me. I had the gorgonzola cream and The Bolognese, both were absolutely delicious on their own however if you look at the picture you'll see the two side by side orders touched and where I got a bite of both sauces it was almost like eating pillows of lasagna. I ordered the branzino for the main course, it was cooked extremely well, crispy on the skin side very tender and delicious. We finished the meal splitting the limoncello cake which I highly recommend. My only drawback, was that my pasta and main courses were delivered at the exact same time which meant my fish was cold by the time I got to it. That was a surprise to me given how the rest of the meal head flowed. I don't think it is normal to serve primi and secondi courses at the same time. The restaurant was not overly busy, and a secondio early. As I mentioned it was inviting, without being stuffy or overly fussy. They serve beer and wine only so don't go looking for a mixed drink. The wine list was varied and complimentary to the menu. We will be returning again and again as the food was...
Read moreOrdered appetizer (salumi plate) and wine at bar. Seated at 7 pm, ordered a panzanella salad and requested that w/o onions. Evidently not prepared fresh and they just picked the onions out of a salad that was made 7-8 hrs earlier. Good thing anaphylaxis didn't set in. Order taken for entrees at 7:10. 2 eggplant parmesan, one lasagna and a pork scalopini. Informed at 7:35 that only one eggplant portion left. Opted for the meatballs. Entrees delivered at 8:10-15. Eggplant entree 1/2 size of the eggplant entrees we saw served while we waited, so it was leftover or scrap. Meatballs served with bland naked, oily, mushy spaghetti on the side. Not even an all-olio. No seasoning, no sauce, no flavor, ronzoni cardboard . Pasta and meatballs close to refridgerator cold. Eggplant as cool to touch as a dead body. Lasagna microwave hot and arrived at least 5-8 minutes after the others were served. Meatballs and sauce were as appetizing as canned Chef Boyardee. Manager Austin (well intentioned), offered to reheat food, but leftovers are meant to see eaten at home and not charged for. Chef supposedly from Italy...... maybe Italy, TX.
After the initial pitch that all their ingredients are imported, found most tasted canned, tired and old. Certainly not DOP cert. Or traditional. Much needs to be improved. A poor meal for rich tab of almost $300.00 (the wine was authentically Italian)
Most importantly, there was nothing conveying that any passion or love went into the preparation of a bland, mediocre meal.
My guests and I were left disappointed, and hungry as most of the food we ordered was left uneaten, a shameful waste of food.
This place needs to step it up or go away. Being the new hot spot for the tragically hip only lasts until the next IT place opens.
Eating Italian food as Garden to table freshness, as I remember as a child, prepared with the care, love and passion that my nanna Angelina had for food,...
Read moreWith the plethora of dining options, that are throughout the surrounding area, I'm so thankful we settled on dinner reservations @ Loveria! The charm of this place alone is enough to make you want to become a regular at this haven. Beautifully decorated, open space, with expansive windows to connect the outdoors to your dining experience. The dining room was arranged thoughtfully and with vibrancy like that of being in an Italian restaurant in NYC or London.
The food was impeccable and the selections were plentiful, while the wines and drink offerings did not disappoint. Definitely inspires you to look forward to returning to try more of the various options. We started with an Insalata Romana (Ceasar salad) that had great ingredients (Polenta and Parmesan croutons), and the Ceasar dressing was one of the most authentic dressings I've had outside of Italy. My wife had the Tagliatelle al Brasato w/ a slowly braised Waygu beef, which was amazing, and I tried the Lobster Ravioli! Equally divine, with one of the best creamy Lobster sauces I've ever had. We finished it off with the Limoncello Cake, which literally had us wanting to lick the plate.
All in all, this was an incredible dining experience and a very welcome and pleasant surprise to find such quality, ambiance, and attention to detail in the Dallas metroplex. We will certainly be returning soon,...
