The way the judge operates in this town is very unfair. There is no point in going to court for a traffic ticket here. Please doNOT waste your time fighting this even if the officer was mistaken. The judge will tell you the same thing he told the woman who appeared before me. "We go by whatever our officers say". I knew then I didn't stand a chance even when the officers boss told me it was possible for him to be mistaken. The worst part was he got before the judge stated false information and when I corrected him like the judge said I could do when he was done the judge stated so many people think they are lawyers. This was so embarrassing for me. I stated my case the officer had no proof to provide like his prior colleagues had done to prove their cases. They not only made me pay court cost but made me pay for a speeding ticket that I did NOT commit and added points to my driving record. They stated that if I wanted to appeal this I would have to pay another 200 dollars and they would send it to Memphis court. Unfair treatment and a waste of money even if I did appeal this I would have to get a lawyer and lose 200 more dollars and would not be refunded the $179 ticket and court cost fee. I feel sorry for anyone who has gone through what I went through with this system. The judge did however dismiss the elderly ladies ticket with court cost and gave other people who were his color driving classes to prevent them from being pointed. This is unfair because I was not given the chance and hadn't had a ticket in 6 years. I hate to think it was related to color or maybe even that I wasn't from that town but it sure looks that way. I will say that the clerks behind the glass were very sweet and understanding. I'm okay giving one star because of them. Although I didn't deserve the turn out...
Read moreI got a speeding ticket while visiting Coillerville, Tennessee. I flew back to Tennessee from California so I could get my fine reduced and find out how to remove the point from my record. The judge reduced my fine, however, what they fail to tell you is that with court fees the ticket ends up being THE SAME AMOUNT. I WISH I WOULD'VE KNOWN SO I WOULDN'T HAVE GONE! Don't waste your time trying to get a reduction; the fee will still be the same. And the judge (woman, forgot her name) was rude I tried to explain that I was visiting and that I didn't have any other speeding tickets on my record so if she could pardon it and she made it seem like she was doing so much by reducing my fine and that she wouldn't remove it. And you can't do traffic school in Tennessee to remove the point from your record! Tennessee is so behind in the times the entire...
Read moreI received a citation for a rear-end collision involving Fenner Benner in Collierville. I had the option to pay $151 or contest it in court. I chose to plead guilty, and the judge accepted my plea with a court fee of $140. Fortunately, there were no points added to my driving record. Judge Mam was polite throughout the process. I am relieved to have settled this...
