Collierville Police Department — Local services in Collierville

If I could give zero stars I would! I moved to Collierville, TN about 11 months ago and I’ve been pulled over by the night patrol police officers about 6-8 different times all because I drive a car with tinted windows and my tints are legal! Collierville is like a “sun down town” if you are a minority they will harass you! I am a law abiding citizen all my life and lived in small towns in MS and lived in Germantown, TN for 4 years and never in my time living in any of those towns did the police officers pull me over for my tinted windows . I do not do drugs or drink nor do I sell drugs . I do not have a criminal history and each time they pull me over they treat me like I’m a criminal some thug! Their tone of voice and the way they treat me is unacceptable! I’m a single mother and work hard to make a honest living to provide for my babies but I can’t even drive through Collierville at night without getting pulled over! They target me each and every time and it’s always the same police officers and it’s always about my tinted windows . Previously last night they pulled me over and asked for my license and insurance I gave it to them like I always do. Of course they ran my background and it came back clear like always yet they demanded I step out of the car and walk and stared in my eyes hoping to see intoxication or if I was on drugs . I told I do not do drugs or drink alcohol I could tell they did not believe me . They wanted so bad to find something to arrest me . I told them I deliver for a food company as my part-time job at night because they hounded me repeatedly with the same questions where did I come from? Where am I going? Like they couldn’t understand the first time I told them they were integrating me with insane questions and refused to allow me to go back to my car to get my cell phone to show proof of the app that I deliver food . They searched my car from front to back and the trunk and found no drugs like DUH 🙄 jokes on you! But I could tell they were shady police officers and was afraid they would plant drugs in my car I could tell they wanted to find something to arrest me . I’m so sick of Collierville police officers harassing me all because of my car tints and I’m a minority single woman driving at night in a sun down town . The day shift police officers don’t bother me it’s only the night shift police officers. If you are a minority beware of this...

My truck decided to stop supplying Gas at the Light of Winchester and S. Houston Levee Rd. on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. ( THE LAST WEEKEND OF BEFORE XMAS).. I called 911 fearing we will be rear ended...because my truck was dead at the light.... They arrived promptly and so courteous. Secured the scene with their cars and lights.

I figured it was my gas guage was reading bad. They took to us (my 13yr old) he Kroger Gas Station right next door and waited on us to get a gallon of gas ...they filled it and that didn't work.

SO THEY GO 1 STEP MORE. My battery died and they Pulled their car in from of mine and tried to Jump my truck which it almost started but wasn't the issue...so I called AAA.. SOOO WHAT THEY DO NEXT?..

They Push my truck all the way into the Walgreens Parking Lot....Mind you I have a Yukon XL and were inside the truck😶 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Wow..Thank God for sending you all to help us. I cannot praise or thank you enough. WE ABSOLUTELY APPRECIATE IT.🙏🏽👏🏾👏🏾 Everyone was cheering them on and asking if they needed help etc. Great Work You Guys And I wanted to like send you all some Holiday Donuts or something..but not sure you all will accept it? The truck was towed to Collierville GMC and I made it home safely unharmed...Thank you all again!...

The police are inconsistent morons who prey on teen drivers while ignoring adults who commit the same infractions. All they want to do is get as many teens on probation as possible. And their probation program is ridiculous. 6 months of only driving family members, a court-mandated distracted driving class (even though the individuals in question were most likely ticketed for speeding rather than texting), a court-mandated driver safety course, and wearing a wristband that serves as their own version of the scarlet letter. Judge Hall runs a kangaroo court with plenty of rules to make him feel like a big man and to make citizens feel as though they have no control (which they don’t). When one enters the courthouse, one is told not to bring one’s cell phone because it could be a gun that looks like a phone. Instead of merely checking the phone to make sure it isn’t a gun (which should take no time at all), the lazy police officers make one return it to one’s car. During court precedings, there is no opportunity to explain the circumstances of the ticket, only a chance to step forward for your very own kick in the balls from Judge Hall. In addition, the police department takes the easy way out when investigating crimes, and instead of examining and collecting real evidence at crime scenes they merely guess about what happened (and usually suspect the victims). Altogether a terrible police department that sucks the live out of vibrant...
