Phenomenal work on my late 19th Century European mine cut diamond ring setting!!

I bought a late 19th century old European mine cut diamond ring from EBay back in 2022. The prongs on the ring were worn and the setting looked a little crooked. I first took it to Jared to have the prongs rebuilt. After the work was done I could tell little difference from the original condition it was in, I took it back a few months later and when I got it back same thing.

Well I took it to Jewelry Creations by Shirlie Witt at the suggestion of my good friend Pete Pettry. Boy am I glad I did! Shirlie is a MASTER jeweler! She did absolutely beautiful work rebuilding my prongs! She explained to me that Jared had used a solder that was too soft and when they tried to tip each scallop on the prongs the heat melted the others. She actually constructed new prongs on my setting! This rating/review is long is overdue. My family has used Shirlie for years and when it came time to look for an engagement/wedding ring I knew right away where I wanted to go. Going to Shirley over other jewelry chains you get a better overall experience. Shirley took the time to show me my options, understand what I was looking for, and explain the details of each piece. What I also liked about using Jewelry Creations was that you wouldn’t see many styles of my wife’s ring on other women. It made me feel like what I was buying was unique. We have been married a year now and people still compliment her on her ring. Shirlie was beyond patient with me. Please make sure that you read your receipt carefully if you submit your jewelry for repair. Ask questions. Make sure that your receipt matches your expectations. I assumed that my receipt matched what I was presented and it did not. The receipt indicates the actual work proposed. Lesson well learned. It was worth the money spent to remind me to be more cautious. I usually am very astute, but not this time. In any type of business transaction please read, review and know exactly what you are paying for. Never just take your receipt and put it in your purse.
