I just made my third order with this company in recent weeks. I'm thoroughly impressed with the complete resource they've put together for the amateur rocket hobbyist. The education library alone is valuable but the inventory for the one-stop-shop experience is much appreciated. You see, I'm in this for my 14 yr old son who shows a great deal of talent and interest in STEM and specifically aerospace engineering. My lack of experience in this field would make mentoring him through his L1 then L2 much more difficult if I didn't have this great company to deal with. I'm even satisfied enough with their customer service and product inventory that I am okay with paying the small premium on products rather than ordering direct from the original vendor. I could save a few bucks but then I'm depending on emails not being returned or VM not even being set up. Or having to make several orders from different companies. When I have a technical question, the owner himself responds usually within the hour. We both plan on getting our L1 with their kits in a few weeks. I can tell you that I don't see a need to stray far from their library or store anytime soon. The gentleman that picks up the phone by the third ring has also instilled a great deal...

So far, I have ordered from Apogee Components twice, and the experience has been nothing short of pleasant each time. The first time, I ordered some F-class engines, and the site was quick to let me know about a HAZMAT shipping charge, and even suggested some ways to avoid it, but the particular engines that I needed required HAZMAT shipping. I even received a personal message from customer support after my order!

For my second order, I ordered miscellaneous supplies. Afterward, I received another personal email thanking me for returning for a second purchase!

For both orders the service has been very prompt, the first order arrived within 4 days, even with HAZMAT shipping! An order which I placed on the same day from another website isn't even here yet! Apogee always communicates the status of your order and ships items out same-day when possible.

The website also contains many resources and tutorials explaining how to get into rocketry, how to set up your rocket, showing bigger rocketry's requirements, and even explaining how to get L1/L2 Certification. Pretty much anything you could need.

I have had an amazing experience with Apogee, and I look forward to purchasing from them again in the future.

The key to Apogee’s success is their mastery of added value services. Yes, they sell “stuff” but they are also there for followup questions and problem solving. Do you have a question? Just call or email them. Apogee also has a weekly newsletter that has covered a wide range of topics over the years without repeating themselves. And some of those topics can be quite complicated, even for an experienced rocketeer. The owner, Tim Van Milligan, has also created a huge stable of instructional, educational, and how-to videos. All of these added value services are free, whether you buy your stuff from Apogee or not.
