J’s Electronic Repair — Local services in Colorado Springs

Where do I begin...my husband took our iPad mini 3 in to have a cracked screen repaired. We were told they needed to order the part and it would be a few days. A few days later we called and were told they ordered it for an iPad mini 2 not a three and it would be a few more days. About 3 days later my husband called again and was told the shipment was delayed and it would for sure be ready Tuesday by 3. On Tuesday at 330 my husband went to the store and was told he just finished it and to keep it under something heavy until the glue set (but he had it in a drawer under absolutely nothing) after 24 hours, we pulled out the iPad to see the screen was HORRIBLY placed and the iPad would not turn on as the screen was somehow pushing down the home button. The next day, my husband went back and requested refund. As soon as we received that, we went to another repair shop. After they pulled it apart, we were told that the previous guy used the wrong parts and messed up the fingerprint scanner. We called him back and was told since we received a refund he would not help us. When my husband brought up that the wrong part was used, his response was that he couldn't say anything because he didn't do the repair, although he told us he just finished it when we picked it up. So 220$ later, through a reputable company, we were able to get it fixed (not the fingerprint scanner as he messed that and many other things up beyond repair) now I'm not a specialist on this topic by any means, but who knew you could mess up the entire iPad by just repairing just the screen. I definitely DONT recommend...

I dropped my phone off on 12/17/2023 and paid for a diagnostic test on my phone. I have spoken to them once after calling numerous times and even stopping the store which is always closed. They said they were waiting on a part and haven’t heard from them since. I’m writing this review out of desperation because at this point I just want my phone back. Since no one is ever at the store and no one is answering the phone I hope someone will respond to this review.

Update: Someone contacted me shortly after the review and was very apologetic. Unfortunately, my phone was unable to be fixed. It definitely wasn’t a 5 star experience but because of the apology I will...

I had serious trouble with my iPhone SE and needed immediate help. J was able to get me in that day. In the end, it turned out that a new battery that was replaced by a different store in Monument was faulty, and the guy who replaced the battery left out 5 major parts to hold all the pieces inside the phone in place, resulting in internal damage and strange problems with the phone. J was able to put back the missing parts, replace the battery with a quality one, replace the damaged circuit board, and the phone is fully operational again. From now on, I am ALWAYS going to drive the extra distance to see J and have him fix my phone. A-1...
