I wasn’t familiar with the area so I called La Rue. They told me to just come in. I waited 30 minutes before I asked the technician next to me if I should leave cause it’d been awhile. She said no no they’re coming right now. So she got me a bowl of water.. ice cold, plain water to put my hands in? Waited probably 20 minutes.. then they finally grab my color for me. I kept thinking I’ve waited this long it’s gotta be any minute now! Those minutes turned into what felt like forever.
So I’ve waited an hour, and someone finally comes. She’s very unorganized. She had to get up and leave to grab each new tool. The finger nail file was the size of my index finger?? I had to let her know that the shape of my nails were different or uneven THREE times! She told me she’s licensed it’s suppose to be that way.. I’ve been getting my nails done for years. I just wanted them even! I’ve never experienced such slow reaction time. Each cut of a cuticle and each swipe with the nail polish... I had to remind her Every Other Time to turn the UV light on. I had to let her know that she did NOT even file one hand! It was so strange.
The technician next to me kept asking me why I’m so quiet and that I should talk more.. and I know she was just trying to be nice. But, 1) I didn’t go in there to party. 2) I was already on edge from the wait. 3) I was obviously uncomfortable getting questioned like that.
There was a woman behind he service tables drinking BUD LIGHT from a can! Someone had brought coffee and right after another worker, who appeared to be the owner, said hurry up so we can bring out the wine. That would explain the day’s chaos.
Girls surrounding me had appointments that were pushed an hour later. One girl they gave clippers to start herself. Another girl they had her take off her own acrylics. One was filing her own nails. If you’re not able to provide the service, let us know. I would of happily gone somewhere else instead of waiting two hours to get a basic gel manicure done. I don’t want to spend my days off more stressful than the week.
I understand being short staffed or having more people come in than expected.. drama or bad days.. but make the appropriate decisions for that. You’re running a business.
I took the screenshot of the nails I wanted at 1:00 on the dot. I did not LEAVE there until 3:06. I had to make a phone call to cancel plans.
If I could give no...

And for the record, $5 is not a financial burden but merely principle. Malicious business practices that are a slap in the face to customers; a bait to charge more money. I was not asked about what polish I wanted for employee clarification, I was told “gel is better…” It was a statement to get me to change my mind and choose a more expensive option. In your responses to negative reviews, instead of learning and listening to your customers in hope to turn around their experience and/or review, you point fingers and assume no responsibility. Do better.
I went in for a pedicure. I previously had gel, but in this case, was popping in for a quick pedicure before my next one in 2 weeks. Why so close you ask? For office appreciation, my employer pays for the office staff to get pedicures. So, going in to the salon - I did not want gel. Why pay the extra $15 for gel when again, in 2 weeks, I was going to get a free pedicure.
I was asked not once, but twice, if I wanted gel again. The second time I said “No. I have gel now but I want regular polish this time.”
Guess what? At check out I was charged $5 to have the gel removed. Why? So if I WOULD have gotten gel polish this time, then they would have charged me $5 to take gel off and $15 to put gel back on? I don’t think so; never heard of such thing.
I was just simply nickled and dimed. No other way around it. The salon I normally go to is about a 20 minute drive so I was trying to find somewhere closer to home, but nevermind. I’ll drive the 20 minutes based on principle alone.
I’ve read through reviews and I guarantee the owner will respond (awful rude to respond the way they do to bad reviews) and say that the $5 take off is included with the $15 gel fee or something similar to cover up their bait and switch pricing. I will not be returning and unless you want to be charged maliciously, I would not recommend taking your...
Read moreThis is the hands down absolutely worst experience I have ever had in my life! For someone who gets their nails done often I can’t believe the absolute lack of experience this lady had. She started off by trying to start doing my nails while I was getting a pedicure (you could tell she was in a rush). I told her I’d like to do my mani and my pedi separately. My husband and I made appointments so there should have been no rush. You could tell there was attitude about the fact I didn’t want to do both at the same time. I think she’s the manager as well was the worst part of this whole experience. I started to get my nails done once my pedicure was done. They have no flip flops available. so I had to walk bare foot with wet toe nails to the chair. That’s was uncomfortable, the floor had obviously not been cleaned in a long time. She started to do my nails everything is okay at that point she starts to file before starting the full set and then she starts nicking my cuticles. She started to glue the nails and she glued them where they are facing up! I thought well maybe she knows something I don’t… she started to put on the acrylic and I noticed the nails was still pointing staring up. I asked her if she saw what I was talking about and she said yes and started to remove it. Then I pointed out the others where the same way. She fixed one and just decided to start filling the other nails to make it look flat. At this point I realized she was going to keep caking on acrylic instead of fixing the nails the right way. I asked her to just take them off. The acetone burned the cuts on my nails the whole time she was removing she kept cutting me with the file. This is the absolute worst experience of my life. One of her employees was sitting down the way with a lady and it seeemed like the best nail experience ever. I can’t believe someone in management could be so inexperienced in nails and caused this much damage on my nails. I definitely will be contacting a lawyer about the pain and...
