I used to work near this place so I've gone here a bunch over the years. It's not going to have the most amazing food, but it's still pretty solid and is better than a lot of other Mexican fast food restaurants in Colorado. My favorite meat here is the carnitas, although they deep fry the shredded beef tacos and those come out pretty good as well. The carne asada isn't bad, but usually comes out a little dry. The guacamole is usually solid, and I like paying extra for a side and using it as a dip for my quesadilla. The hours say it opens at 6am, but I went there once around 5:45 and they took my order. I asked the girl at the window about it because it says open at 6:00 on Google and she said it's a family-owned one (this is a franchise around Colorado Springs, so I think she meant they only own this specific one?) and said whenever the person opening gets there they will start taking orders. So, if you work early maybe give it a shot but no guarantees. Also, when it gets busier during the day a lot of people don't seem to understand that this specific location has a drive-thru on either side of the building. I've been there so many times where people will start lining up on the south side because it's the traditional drive-thru layout where the pick-up window lines up with the driver's side, and I'll go around on the other side and get my order before all of the other people who got there before me. If you want to do "dine in", there is a small area out front where you can place an order in person and a few tables to eat, but it is all outdoors.

I have come to this establishment for three years and never had a complaint the food was always excellent, today I went through the drive-through at 4:21 I ordered steak Ranchero that looks like chopped up Asada meat, the refried beans were tossed into the Ranchero meat, I ordered chili Rellenos , the same unappealing styrofoam Presentation, the beans were undercooked not refried well the rice was under cooked ...crunchy , For $10.00 a plate I will not return. I called taco express as soon as I got home and saw my food and I was told sorry about that that’s the way the meat is coming to us.

Now by no means am I an expert on Tacos but these were some of the best damn tacos(not burrito, torta, etc) I've had in this state. I've been to quite a few spots in town, Denver and Pueblo, but these were just overly delicious. I couldn't even take a picture of the adobada taco I had. I love Fish Tacos and these were the best ones that I've ever had hands down. I don't know what they dip those tortillas in prior to serving them, but it's an amazing idea and product. lol. Serious, if you're around the area, you gotta stop in and try this place. The best $13 I've spent on food all year.

I liked it better when the prices were cheaper... don't really eat there anymore. Update: After receiving the response from the owner, I lowered the stars from a 3 to a 1. I decided to write a more detailed review. Since I wrote the review I have not eaten there and honestly don't miss it. There are many other places to eat for a MUCH cheaper price, MUCH better food, and you don't have to deal with an owner who lives in denial. Honestly, there are much better options and cheaper. The place also looked really dirty and sketchy the last time I was there but I left that out for my last review to be nice. My review was too nice the first time. I will avoid this place at all costs. By the way if you do go, check to see they are wearing a mask and washing hands and changing gloves in this tiny little place. Thinking back the person touching money used to handle food as well. FYI I live super close to this place and I have not eaten there in a long, long, long time. I will say the last time I did eat there the sauce was good, but never was a huge fan of the taste of the food. I ate there more for the sauce and it cleaned me out. It did quickly clean me out and is great if you really need to use the restroom. See I did post something nice, this place is great if you need to go to the restroom if you havent in awhile (eat and be close to a restroom and be ready to run!!!). I hope you appreciate my much more detailed review owner. I probably would have kept it at 3 but after the owners dishonesty I felt compelled to be more thorough. Not a fan, not worth the price, but I will give you 1 star instead of 0 because it does clean you out REALLY fast!!! I always like to post at least 1 positive! :) So I do recommend this restraunt if you are stuffed up in your belly and you need to get rid of stomach waste really quickly! But if you want good or even decent food at a better price there are much better...

Normally I would give 5 stars. Love the Carne Asada fries and I come here often for lunch as I work close by. Unfortunately this last trip was rather disappointing. The online ordering was shut down almost 45 minutes before the business even closed. I decided to just hit up the drive through as I'm 2 minutes away, and got turned away by the employee saying "No drive through now!". I was quite confused as they still had about 35 minutes until close. I asked again and they said "No drive through now!" again so I definitely heard them correctly. I went back to work without my beloved tacos, and remained hungry. Tacos are life so I will be back, however if they continue to treat customers in this fashion I will definitely find another spot. Come on guys you can do better than that! Never have I been allowed to close my store over a half hour early and turn away customers. That's just poor business practice. Hopefully next time I don't get turned away with an open sign brightly lit just because someone is...
