2 time at this store, and again, they screwed me up with the prices. They have one price in the store, and another online. Before ordering, I asked why the price difference. The cashier, Latoria, was super friendly and tried to get help from a manager, but apparently the manager told her that the online prices were cheaper that way. I didn't order online because it would take longer, so I decided to buy it that way. Then I went for lemons, avocados, and 8 bolillos, I went and paid, and when paying, I asked the cashier for a manager, obviously I didn't have any doubts because the kitchen manager didn't even have a face. One of the store managers came and explained to me that the price changed depending on the size of what I was carrying. I said, "Okay, I understand," and said, "I'll let Latoria know," giving me to understand that it was the cashier's mistake by not explaining to me when she didn't even know why the price changed, proof that they don't train their staff well. and since I focused on the kitchen I didn't realize until now when I was going to post my review that instead of charging me for bolillos they charged me for sweet bread so they charged me $6 more and obviously I went and complained and this time I was attended by Dante, according to the manager, because of the two times I've gone I only see him talking and never working and he, very stupid, thought I didn't speak or understand English, he said he had to check the cameras, which I didn't have any problem with and I told him here is the receipt for what I paid in the kitchen. Right after paying in the kitchen, I grabbed the bolillos and started making fun of me, then the other manager who had helped me earlier appeared and said just give him the refund and he ignored him and continued talking on the phone so they could check the cameras and another manager was the one who gave me the refund. And I'm not writing this review to put the store in a bad light, but rather so the owner pays more attention to the managers, who don't train or educate the staff and don't know how to treat customers. And to Dante, I can only say that he will be measured by the same yardstick he uses. He may be up today, but tomorrow, we don't know.

You’re paying for the new construction of the store - the food and service isn’t great. The style of the store is nice, but still lacking compared to a La Comer in CDMX or a Northgate in OC. There wasn’t as much fresh stuff like a Sprouts or a Northgate. The service was rude and impersonal, I didn’t feel my community in this store. 2 avocados for $7, a small pack of old cut mango for $7 — some of the highest prices I’ve ever seen in a Mexican grocery, but without the good service or quality to match. What I got here - see photo, was $50. The tamales had a plastic taste to them and tasted artificial. Don’t support this guys, go back to shopping at the stores that value our hard earned money.

I decided to try grocery shopping at Vallarta and found the prices were definitely higher than other grocery stores in the area. On top of this they sold us bad steaks. We purchased them on Sunday and Wednesday (3 days later) defrosted them to find it was bad and smelled abnormal. Also, while shopping in person there was several chicken trays that were leaking and smelled rancid.

I was so excited for a bean burrito today. Ordering was perfect quick and efficient. Now the wait. Youngman on duty, reads the order l, standing at the service line, directly in front of the hot food, his stomach touching the service bar. He takes his 1st glove without sanitizing his hands or washing them, and blows into the 1st glove his mouth touching the glove. He then puts on the 1st glove. He then grabs the 2nd glove and blows directly into the 2nd glove. After putting on the second glove and then proceeds to make my food. I didn't stop him for the simple fact that I was not sure it was my burrito he was making, my luck it was. Not only did he make it wrong, he was shocked that I had a problem with him blowing into the gloves and over the food. When he consulted, with his peer, the peer smiled and just laughed. Now I mad, I asked for a manager. Manager excuse was he was new. Even without training, it's common sense that blowing your breath directly in gloves and over the food is wrong! What if I called the Health Department, what they should have done was gotten a new serving of food, sanitized the counter and re-made me my burrito.

Vallarta you have to do better! Now I am lacking confidence in your ability to maintain sanitary and food...
