I’ve repeatedly experienced discrimination and poor treatment as a disabled customer at two Starbucks locations:
125 Redlands Blvd, San Bernardino, CA 92408
1241 E. Washington St, Colton, CA 92324
As someone protected under the ADA, I expect to be treated with respect when I let staff know I have a disability. Unfortunately, I’ve repeatedly been questioned, scolded, and even threatened with order cancellations simply because I cannot place my mobile order 15–20 minutes in advance due to medical appointments. I’ve explained that I’m disabled and that the app helps me manage my neurological condition by remembering my drink order for me, yet employees still challenge me every time.
Starbucks is a multi-billion-dollar company, and if there are ongoing issues with ticket printing or order timing, that should be handled internally by your IT or operations team — not taken out on customers, especially those with disabilities.
Please ensure your employees and managers receive proper ADA and sensitivity training. When a customer identifies as disabled, that should be the end of the discussion — not the start of a confrontation.
I’m not asking for special treatment, only for equal access and a simple, respectful experience when ordering my drink and food without being harassed or made to prove my disability.
I did attempt to resolve this without leaving a negative review, but I guess I am not worthy of a phone call back from management to see how they will proceed with their future employee...
Read moreI don't come everyday, usually just as a treat. Yes its expensive, but we all know that already right? Ok, moving on... I usually get either decaf or half-caf. I've had people say, " what's the point of decaf why bother?" , well I like coffee. If I needed caffeine, I'd guzzle a monster. Its like cooking at home. Yeah its cheaper and healthier to cook at home, provided what you're making is a somewhat healthy option. But when you're the one doing all the cooking sometimes you want to go out and let someone else do it, and enjoy the peace of leaving the dishes for someone else. Same thing with my coffee. Yes I make my own at home. I have a freezer section of beans that I grind and make my own blends. Depending on how I feel, different blend every day sometimes. So sometimes I meet a friend, sometimes the wacky teenager Im in charge of wants to go, sometimes, what the heck, lets be unicorns! Lol, yes today was a caffeine day my friends. ( only half-caf) Wow this review went all directions quick lol. SO, yes this Starbucks got four stars from me. Why not 5? Well, that's the fault of those few wobbly tables that like to be jerks and make you spill 1/3 of your drink. Listen Starbucks, if you're charging x amount for each coffee, please no wobbly tables. No wad of napkins under a leg, throw the table out and replace. I'm reminded of the 90's classic, YOU'VE GOT MAIL, everytime I order coffee. Tom Hanks voice narrating over me as I order my "venti iced half- caf caramel...
Read moreI tell it like it is if you give me great service and a good product the review will reflect that, if you do not this is what it will reflect... I work all over from LA to Palm Springs to Bakersfield I've been to more Starbucks than I can count. I've also worked in the restaurant industry from a Sonic when I was in high school to a five star restaurant in Sacramento... If I'm in the Drive-Thru and there's 10 cars in front of me I understand there is 10 cars in front of me it will be a minute.... My problem is when I go to a Starbucks at 4:30 in the morning and there is no cars in front of me and it still takes 10 minutes to get a Pike's Place and an oatmeal there is a problem... But understand I do not form an opinion on one visit "positive or negative" but I've been to this Starbucks 5 days in a row and it has not changed the staff there moves with no sense of urgency and do not really seem to care about how long you...
