I called Knutson's because they stated they offered wholesale prices on bait. I initially spoke with a Shelly who said she would be happy to mail me a hardcopy of the MI tax exemption form,,which is S.O.P. with most places selling wholesale products. I finally got in the copy of the form, so I filled it out and was ready to do a screenshot picture and send it in by e-mail, but I noticed at the bottom that it had Knutson's FAX number on it. So, I called to ask. I don't do fast. I do slow and steady. Some woman answered the phone and she spoke so fast and unfriendly that I had no idea what she said. I asked if it was Joy or Shelly. Idk what she said. So I asked who I was speaking with. She seemed to say, "This is Knutson's!" I said, "Yes, I know, because I called, but, who is this person I am speaking with?" She replied in what sounded an angry tone, saying she told me, Mrs Knutson.

I said it sounded like she said, "this is Knutson's." Then she snapped back at me "what can I help you with!" I told her she didn't have to get mad and that she must be too busy to sell so I hung up. I thought I found a good, customer-service oriented bait supplier when I first called and from my interaction with Shelly and Joy.

Maybe I should keep in mind that northerners aren't friendly?

Knutson's customer service has a lot to be desired. The employee working on November 5, 2023, made my blood boil and I am a pretty easy going person. I had my receipt and I was trying to return items unused that I didn't need, however they had a 30 day return policy that is taped on their counter and I said, "Not everyone sees that when items are placed on their counter and that it would be a good idea to have that to be printed on the receipt." Whatever, then he's looking at an item I brought back and states in a derogatory tone, "This item looks like it has been used." In which, I unscrewed the top and I showed him it was completely sealed.! I asked him, "Okay, can I get a store credit, he tells me, "No." I had a my fella with me and he asks him and he told him, Okay, but you have to buy the items today. I looked at the employee and I said, "Why did you say yes to him and you wouldn't do it for me and he proceeds to tell me, "I didn't like your attitude and he asked me nicely." I have worked customer service and I was always understanding and patient with a customer returning things. This employee was confrontational right from the get go.
