Boswell Appliances — Local services in Columbia

Boswell Appliance in Columbia, Tennessee will be my go-to for any appliance needs I have in the future. I will never buy appliances at Lowe's or Home Depot again!

Our Maytag washing machine (which we purchased at Home depot six years ago) started to fail. We hired a repair man who said it was probably the control panel (which would cost more than a new machine to replace) and suggested we go to Boswells because the best brand he knew of was Crosley. Very few places carry this brand, but they do. He also told us to call first because this is a small, family-run business (since 1967) and they cannot be in the store all the time.

We called and spoke to the owner, Sharon. She encouraged us to come down and look at what she had available. We'd already put our order in for another Maytag with Home Depot, but it would be ten days until it could be delivered. They were going to charge us for delivery, taking away our old machine, and new hoses (which they required if we wanted them to do the install).

Sharon listened to what we needed and made a couple suggestions. She also said if we weren't sure, we could bring our old washer down and she would take a look at it for free. If it was a simple and cost-effective repair, we wouldn't need to purchase a new machine. We picked out the machine we wanted in case our old one was finished, and canceled our Home Depot order.

For the next few days, our old machine seemed to be working sporadically so we didn't bother taking it Sharon. After a few days, it was clear it wasn't going to work. We called Sharon, and she scheduled the new machine to be delivered the next day! Who does that?

Sharon brought the new washing machine, installed it, and didn't charge for delivery, the new hoses, or taking the old machine away. That's what I call real customer service.

If you read the poor reviews, you will see they are from people who didn't like that she wasn't available when they showed up. Call first! Don't be deterred because she can't be in the shop 24/7. It's well worth a little inconvenience to get a great quality product and even better...

Tried calling, no answer, mail box full, couldn't leave a message. Went to the business, got there 5 minutes before opening, sat there till 9:30, not open, other people pulled up, waited and they left, I want to spend my money to support local business, but come on people you got do your side of it. Dang it, gonna go spend my money at the big box store ( no sign in the window for open or closed, saw it laying inside, not hung up...

This place is auwsom! They never scams people on purpose if ur warnty is out it's OUT, If they dosent have the part in question they will order it for u in most case's they will hold ur item till u pick up, and they are multi tasker's not a cut and dry schedule but if u pay attention seams that by 2pm most days they are in office done with out source chores and open till 5pm or later and there most Saturdays, GO...
