400 West Rich, Franklinton — Local services in Columbus

I briefly visited an art exhibition opening reception, "COMPAS [Conversations On Morality, Politics And Society] Visual Art Contest Exhibition," about six months ago [3-9-2018], at the "400 West Rich Street" building in Franklinton.

The name of the gallery within this building had been "The Steam Factory at The Ohio State University" but it had been very difficult to find that gallery because the "400 West Rich Street" building has no clear "main entrance," because of the lack of signs with information about programs and locations within that building, and because that building had been nearly empty at the time except for a few people who had been completely unaware of the COMPAS exhibition who also had never heard of "The Steam Factory at The Ohio State University" gallery.

I eventually found "The Steam Factory at The Ohio State University" gallery but no one else had been in that room so I had briefly studied the art on the walls...

This place makes me happy every time we visit! We love meeting the artists! They welcome you into their spaces to see their creations. Everyone is so warm & friendly. There's such a great variety of artists and so many unique styles. The place is always changing. Every time we stop in we find something new. I absolutely love the building! Lots of cool architectural details. I highly recommend anyone who loves art or is looking for a special gift for a loved one check it out. Keep an eye out for events such as Franklinton Fridays, Festivus, Franklinton PRIDE, Festival of Good etc, these are all super fun events and a great opportunity to step inside 400 West...

This is a sweet place, where artists can rent space in which to work. This large complex also accommodates Strong Water bar & restaurant, as well as Idea Foundry, I believe. There is also event space which can be reserved for events. This location regularly features opportunities for the public to visit and experience art, music, food, beverages and interaction with others in the community.
