I had an issue with a transaction at AT&T where I was misinformed about the terms. This led to unexpected charges and purchases made. Jane helped me she was very nice and I asked every question and repeated it back to where I thought I understood what charges were being made. Iām 20 years old this was my first time purchasing a new phone on my own! I decided to go into the store so I could see everything thatās was being done and where I could learn as well. I was told to get case, screen protector, and a free item. That it was included in my military discount and that I wouldnāt be charged for it. I wasnāt told that those purchases in the store would be a payment plan on my bill each month. I told her I didnāt want to purchase the case and screen protector in the store and get it somewhere else. But she was like no itās included in the military discount when anyone hears that theyāre like heck yeah! But no I look at my bill and monthly charges towards those items! I was charged two protection charges I didnāt want. Please anyone who goes in to purchase a new phone and your young please bring someone with you or someone on the phone so sales rep canāt sell you anything. Iām young and felt like I got taking advantage of. She talks really fast and really quick! I just wish I had someone who actually helped me for my benefit and not only thereās! Everyone just go online and purchase your phone these sales rep in the phone store will get you and sell you a bunch of stuff you donāt need to get. I just wanted to upgrade my phone. Went in a paid my phone off $121 yay! Then taxes $116 which I was told included the $35 fee Iām getting charged again on my bill thanks! Then now $124 for the first month and will slowly go down after all those fees and charges I didnāt need are paid. So thatās over $300 now plus $100 something in accessories Iām being charged each month like what??? You said it was included in the military discount anyone can tell you accessories are wayyyyy cheaper everywhere else but a phone store. When I went it I told her hey I donāt have a lot of money just to get my new phone I wanted that I upgraded and got $800 off which is just coming out of my bill each month! After leaving that store and looking at my bill I will never go into another phone store to upgrade or purchase a new phone. I thought I was doing good since I was so young and could actually learn how all thatās works by speaking to someone instead I got taken advantage of! LEARN FROM ME THANK YOU VERY DISAPPOINTED AT&T! ALSO IVE TRIED CALLING YALL I CANT GET ONE REAL PERSON ON THE PHONE THAT IS JUST INSANE I CANT SPEAK TO ONE REAL PERSON OVER THE PHONE! I walked in around 10 am- I was literally the only person in the entire store, there were 2 female employees that were talking to each other the whole time, about a male employee, then he walked in. The one "helping" me hardly even looked in my direction the whole 15-20 minutes I was there. I told her that I wanted another google pixel and she nodded to where they were. I tried to ask her the price differences between the 7 and 8 and all she said was "the 7 will be x amount each month". Couldn't be bothered to explain to me the differences between the two phones. I chose one, she put it in a bag, took my payment and sent me on my way. I asked her if I could turn it on to make sure it works (which, every other time I've ever gotten a phone, they've done that for me). I'm really bad at technology and I was asking her to help me log in to the new phone so it would bring up all the info from my old phone, and she just said "if it doesn't work, I can't help you since your old one is broken" so once again, I'm trying to do all this on my own. I get to a certain point and tell her that usually there's a screen where I can log in with my email and password and it brings up all my synched info and she finally takes the phone and helps me. It's like I'm in there begging for help with this phone when that's literally what they're there for. I came in with my three kids to find out about turning on a phone for my mom. You let me know the phone was not unlocked and it wasnāt paid off and that I would have to discuss with T-Mobile first, who the phone was purchased from.
