I've always enjoyed shopping at Publix. That includes getting my prescriptions filled there as well. This particular Publix Pharmacy on Macon Road in Cross Country Plaza has one of the nicest teams of people I have worked with previously. Not only do they demonstrate extraordinary team work, they provide exceptional surface as well.
Their staff is exceptionally nice & professional, their service far exceeds other Publix Pharmacies in the same city.
As an example, I recently attempted to work with a Publix Pharmacy near my home, where my wife and I purchase groceries.
However, based on my very recent experiences, I will never choose this other pharmacy on Schomburg Road as my Pharmacy provider.
This experience at Schomburg taught me a few things…and that is, the staff is not one in which you want to provide your business.
In a recent conversation with 4 different staff members they, they all come across to me as extremely stressed, very rude, unprofessional, and that my inquiry was a total waste of their time.
This recent example all stemmed from the Pharmacist. It was what should have been a very simple and quick phone call into a bad situation.
Because of recent outages and backlogs across the nation, while I was in my physician's office, they asked if I would please call the pharmacy to see if they had a couple of medications in stock. It's a proactive measure all patients are asked to do during times of outages and unavailability of medications of all sorts.
Subsequently, this proactive approach would not waste the pharmacist time, my time, or the doctor's time. As I follow my doctor's orders, My contacted my current pharmacy, at the time was Publix on Schomberg Road.
wow. was that a call I wish I would not have made. after speaking to a couple of associates, I reached the physician, ask them the basic question of a medication being in stock, informed him I was calling from the doctor's office at their request, etc.
burg Road.
This pharmacist would not only refuse to answer my question, it was explained to me in great detail by him that this information is not given by phone and it's against the law and is forbidden by the policy set forth by Publix.
This Pharmacist suddenly had an awful attitude. Asked why would I be asking why I would be calling to ask such a ridiculous question. BottomLine, he was not going to provide any information to me - period.
Again, this was a request the doctor asked me to make while in his office…. and I was not purchasing anything over the phone. I was simply trying to get basic information so the doctor would know where to send this backlogged prescription.
Also noted, the pharmacist wasn't the only person being extraordinarily rude, but so was the staff prior to me discussing with the pharmacist.
Employees will treat others as they see their leaders handle situations by example.
Unfortunately, that was my experience at Publix Pharmacy on Schomburg Road
However, the silver lining…I attempt at the same exact approach with the staff and pharmacist at Publix Pharmacy on Macon Road. I'm so happy to say I've never been mistretreated, always dealt with courteously and with respect, actually demonstrating by their teamwork they actually do care for their customers.
It goes without saying, This discrepancy should not be the case at the same company, just a few miles apart. And it's actually pretty pathetic and I hope Publix Pharmacy Management as a whole does something to address this matter.
People are under enough stress without having to deal with unnecessary and undue attitudes just for following doctor's orders… . which in turn makes everyone's job...
