I hired Oberer's for my wedding a year in advance. I was confident that my vision was understood. We discussed the floral vision in depth and I gave Nadja (Wedding Coordinator) photos of what each floral piece should look like. She was fully aware of the vision. What was received was anything but!
I had decided on a floral crown rather than a veil. Floral crown was hastily put together - noticeable glue was stuck to the flowers. The anemones fell off, flowers broken. Unable to be worn and was nothing near what the crown itself was supposed to look like.
Centerpieces - colors did not match. When speaking with the wedding coordinator, I was advised that the pink shade she picked out would be close to the dusty rose shade that would match our wedding colors. Not the case. Flowers were baby pink.
Floral Cage for Arch was not a cage at all. Did not match what was shown to the wedding coordinator. Guard petals not removed from the arch and arch flowers looked wilted.
Husband's boutonnière was majorly disappointing, anemone was brown and wilted.
Vase of flowers for a memorial table was supposed to be small and in a bubble and was not. The flower arrangement would not fit on memorial ladder.
Eucalyptus that was given to us for centerpieces had many of the stems broken.
All flowers agreed upon were not necessarily what was received. It appears that the order was not treated with care but instead was hastily put together due to being short staffed.
When I called in the day of the wedding about my floral crown, employee - Emily's response was "okay". It was certainly not okay. My wedding vision was not attained. It was brushed off. I asked for a call back. No call received.
I called in after the wedding on Monday and spoke with Manager, Connie. She apologized. I told her about Emily's response and she said that did not surprise her. She also said she had a stack of issues on her desk - including late wedding deliveries. I was flabbergasted. We talked about what could be done monetarily done. She said she would speak to the owner. He advised he would refund $300. We spent $1700. Flowers were ruined!
I would not recommend them to anyone! I'm so upset and...
Read moreMy brother-in-law passed away suddenly on 2/16/2019. I called Oberer’s Flowers on 2/19/2019 in Columbus, Ohio for a plant to be delivered to the funeral at the church. Within an hour I discovered that it was uncertain where the funeral was to be held and the immediate family was asking for donations toward a charity rather than for flowers. I immediately called Oberers to cancel the order. A lady who answered the phone was abrupt but told me that i would be credited back the total amount at the end of the business day. I also sent a follow up email stating this information and included my order number.
Several days later I received an email from Oberer’s Flowers stating my order had been delivered. I called immediately and the person who answered the phone said that there was nothing saying I canceled my order. She also said that it wasn’t their policy to refund at the end of the day. I told her I also sent a text and she said she would refer this to a manager.
Hours later, I hadn’t heard anything so I called back and unfortunately a woman named Janna answered the phone. As soon as I told her my name, her voice became louder and she was extremely rude to me. She angrily told me there was nothing they could do and kept talking over me when I was calmly trying to explain. I told her I sent a copy of the original email canceling my order and she argued that it was sent after the flowers were delivered. I calmly told her that if she looks at the original email the date of cancellation was the same day I ordered. She finally did begrudgingly and then said she needed to send this to “the big bosses.” She then proceeded to read aloud in a very condescending tone what she was writing.
I ended up having to dispute the charges on my credit card and they contacted Oberers on our behalf. With the credit card company’ help we did receive a full refund.
I am from out of state and I’ve never had an experience with a business like I did at Oberer’s. Loss of a loved one is difficult enough without having a person like Janna being so rude and...
Read moreUpdate: I finally figured this place out after foolishly ordering again for Valentine’s Day. Oberer’s is a discount florist offering poor quality flowers. I shopped around other shops and found out what roses really cost on Valentine’s Day. The reality is double the price Oberer’s charge. So this time I got the same results I always get. Ordered on Tuesday and were so dead on Friday that the entire arrangement just fell apart. So If you are on budget like I was, order from Oberer’s. If you want good quality and not be embarrassed, order elsewhere.
Update: I said I would never order from Oberer’s again, but went against my better judgement and did so for Sweetest Day. Ordered on Tuesday and threw away on Sunday. Wherever they get their flowers from is just not good quality. Glad it wasn’t Valentines Day when they charge $80 for two dozen roses. Look elsewhere for your flower needs. Kroger would probably be a better option. The $10 pre-made bouquets at Kroger last longer.
I’ve been ordering from Oberer’s for seven years for my wife on special occasions. I’ve never really been thrilled with the quality, but still continue to order just out of being too lazy to find another florist. The arrangements are beautiful, but always die within five days. So the beautiful part really doesn’t matter. I ordered two dozen roses for Valentines Day and they were dead within five days as usual. They delivered them to my wife a hour before I requested. I also asked for a glass vase instead of the earthen bubble and got a email back saying the glass vase would be $20 extra. I thought it would be a little more, but $20???Before Valentines Day, I ordered tulips off the specials and they died before they ever opened. I will never...
