I used to shop at this one all the time but I've slowed quite a lot recently because people dont pay attention to what they put out, for how much, and just in general the staff is not the friendliest. I get it is a thrift store, but they don't seem to. Charging for something that has damage or that I have to fix, but they claim its a "steal" for a brand I've never heard of and the price they claim was so high was maybe $5-7 more than they charge. Thats just called sale price. Considering the items are DONATED, it's not a steal for me to pay nearly $20 and still have to fix something on a single item of clothing or accessory. Not to mention them forgetting customers can HEAR and they are talking about how they would just use it and it'd be fine, they don't know what the issue is. Okay, then buy it, use it. You pay that much for it. I won't be.
I started slowing my shopping down after I bought a set of coasters that were taped into the holder. When I got home and I was cleaning the new stuff before putting it out I noticed the cork was damaged on them. I'm crafty, fine, I will put new cork on em.........well.......then I found shells of termites. So it turned into throwing something I paid money for regardless in the trash, cleaning the heck outta the areas they had been in and a search to make sure there were no live ones. With the overcharging and that incident I'm slowly starting to ignore their stores entirely, or at least specific ones. This one being one of...
Read moreOne of my favorite thrift stores. It is HUGE. Very well organized and good stock. They have the largest book selection of a thrift store I have seen so far, I've already saved a bit of money in that respect. In terms of clothes there is a lot to choose from in nearly every isle so I always find at least one nice item even if I can't find exactly what I was looking for. I find their men's sweaters to be particularly good. 2 weeks ago I snagged a long black wool jacket from women's (they had a few), it is the heaviest, most durable thing I have ever worn and I paid $17. To find a coat of that quality at Macy's easily would have cost me $300. Like any Ohio thrift, there is a discount on certain colored tags everyday, so that's always something to look out for. They also have a nice house-ware selection with luggage, candles, kitchen ware (some of it new). They sell new pots for a really good price, non-stick and durable, I own a bunch and cook a lot. Their prices can be high sometimes but are usually fair, especially after discount. However there are NO CHANGING ROOMS. So wear something light if you plan on trying things on. %50 off every last Wends...
Read moreI haven't been in a thrift store in years. Now I remember why. It is beyond me why a business who accepts donations to resell products mostly with the intention of providing products for people who struggle to get everyday items for a low price, would in return then price these items(that they received for free!) at or more then a retail store! Then I get up to the register and see they have a rewards program but come to find out that you are required to spend $250 to receive a $10 discount?!!! I have to wonder was this always the intention when opening these stores or did the owners/ operators lose their way??? Let's face it...a lot of people are struggling and it's a shame that corporate greed has lost all empathy and compassion due to greed!! If I'm going to have to pay retail prices,I'll just buy new items from a retail store. Shame on...
