Gourmand Croquant Bakery — Restaurant in Columbus

Lucky for us most other bakeries are not open on Sunday and we had to search for one. This nondescript bakery reminded me of some delicious Desserts we enjoyed in Europe.

The prices are beyond reasonable for the scratch made delicate pastries and cakes they offer.

The fruit tart is my favorite that we got. It was just the right amount of sweet and oh so good. The crust flakey and delightful, the fruit so fresh!

The strawberry cake is absolutely the perfect balance of light, airy and summer fresh.

The red velvet roll, though not a traditional southern USA version, was quite delicious in this lighter "less heavy" version.

The apple tart was reminiscent of apple pie with a baklava twist. Unique flavor.

The two cookies we had were quite lovely, They go well with tea or coffee.

My hubs grabbed a bottled coffee and we paid right at $20 for the whole lot. Everything tasted great and delicious.

I called many bakeries for a last minute order Sunday and was not successful (as expected) but when I called Gourmand bakery, she got my order in and said it will be ready Monday after 10am. She didn’t hesitate, she just took my order and was so hospitable about it. Picked up the cake and grabbed me a slice that was just starring at me lol. Let me tell you…that slice I picked was chefs kiss. Her bakery was a random pick at the last minute for me, she did the coconut cake I requested for a 75th birthday (his favorite) and he loved it. Please support this bakery, you will not be disappointed. They will definitely be seeing more of me until I’ve tried all their delicious bakery options. This bakery should be packed the way the taste of her cakes are. I ordered a custom cake for my gender reveal party. They did a fantastic job on making the cake the way I wanted. I ordered a blue sponge cake with vanilla flavor and blueberry filling. The cake is moist and not too sweet or too rich. It tastes like other Asian bakery stores. I think it is even better than other asian stores as others told me. The icing is whipped cream, which I prefer. Other kinds of icing are too rich and too sweet to me. You may ask if they do other kinds of icing. Everyone at the party liked the cake so much and asked me where I ordered it. The other nice thing about them is you can text to order even 1-2 days in advance.
