First things first, I just want to say our initial experiences with David Weekley has been great. However, the issues started to snowball about a month into the building/financial/sales process. Initially signing the contract and sending in our Earnest money we were told MULTIPLE times that as long as we didn't cancel the home. We used Priority Home Mortgage which was the preferred lender by David Weekley at the time. Save yourself the headache and just go with a different lender. Unprofessional, unresponsive, not helpful in any way. They eventually stopped replying to me and only talking with the builder, which made the process or even information given terrible because we had to wait for a middle man. Sadly, however we could not close on the home due to an issue with loan, which we did not get an answer for about....6 weeks after the Loan was declined. After the loan was declined we went in to David Weekley Sales and signed the cancellation. This is where I should've done my homework some more. Greg our sales Rep was back and fourth about the money being refunded and had to speak with the boss. Not sure why it was an issue because he had stated multiple times before we even signed the contract that we would get the money back. Anyways, I came back into David Weekley and spoke with Greg and now am told that we would not be getting the money back at all, but it'd just go towards a new house if we ever decided to do business with them again.
Just feels like we've been scammed by the process and I should've had a better understanding of the process and/or had a Realtor represent me for this type of issue. All in all, just be wary of these sales traps and careful who you choose for a lender no matter the...
