When I went in to Platoās I brought a pretty big tote full of stuff. Half of the stuff was not touched when I picked up the tote. It took them about 45 minutes to give me a response that my stuff was done (which I think is somewhat reasonable) and ready to be picked up while there were about 10 other people in front of me. They did not take ANY of it. There were about 50 items in that tote, some including Nike and American Eagle which I see that they tend to normally buy. They told me the reasoning behind them not taking it is because āthey donāt take youth itemsā which is understandable didnāt expect them to, ānone of the items were in seasonā a lot of it was t-shirts, crop tops, shorts, jeans etc. and many other things they had told me which I cannot remember. What I do not understand is there is so much SHEIN stuff there and probably some of the ugliest clothes that I know nobody would EVER wear but they did not take any of my tote full which had name brand stuff in it. Overall, I do not recommend trying to sell any stuff to Platoās. I have also heard they rip people off and do not give them a good...
Read moreI genuinely like their selection of clothing in the store and they do have really good brands...if you're a woman. I wanted to buy some stuff for my fiancé but they hardly had anything to offer. Besides that, they do have just about everything other than clothing you can think of: Shoes, jewelry, purses, backpacks, and a few other cool things.
I also brought in clothing to be traded in for cash. They told me it'd be about 20 minutes and they'd write my last name on a board to come up. I waited for over an hour and finally went up to ask what was going on. Turns out they'd been done the whole time and forgot to talk to me. Very annoying. To make it worse, they only took a small portion of my stuff after claiming that all of it was very fashionable. Only one shirt had a stain (which I didn't even see when washing it), so what was wrong with the rest of the stuff? I'd like better answers here.
It's a good store if you feel like trading in some stuff and getting some decent quality for yourself, but be wary of the lack of men's clothing and somewhat random acceptance of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreProbably one of the worst retail experiences I have ever had. I was looking at sizes and overhead one young woman at the counter tell the other at the register, while no one customers were at the counter, how she already knew that the shorts āsheā was looking at would not fit. I was shocked.
It took me awhile to realize they were talking about me. Not acceptable by any standards. To management, I do not know which young woman said this, I was holding back tears. I could not tell you even if these women had name tags.
This experience has defined my shopping experience and I no longer shop at this location nor feel comfortable shopping at the other locations, which I often used to with friends and family. I highly recommend store-wide re-training in customer service skills and also diversity training. Iām a size 12, the average size of women in the U.S. is a size 16. Unacceptable representation of this store and brand and also unacceptable personal...
