Long read but worth it to save yourself a headache. Hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had with any company! The sales rep we worked with was nice and professional when she came to our house to do measurements and estimates, however when the guys showed up to do the job, they acted clueless about what work was supposed to be getting done. They didn’t know what rooms needed completed or what finishes were supposed to be used around the carpet and had to leave several times to get supplies that they should have already had with them. (One of them was outside on his phone most of the time while the other was inside working). They left our house a complete mess, carpet shreds everywhere, frayed carpet that they didn’t care to cut off or tuck under in the edges by walls or when entering into other rooms, didn’t cut off any of the plastic-y shreds that come up where the seams are (it’s now been 2 weeks and we still have frayed carpet coming up every single day and our 8month old keeps finding the plastic like string pieces and trying to eat them- mind you I have vacuumed every single day with a brand new high powered Dyson vacuum since the day we got carpet). They also left screws sticking out of the floor where they “reattached” the wood pieces between rooms, and left carpet pieces all over our drive way that we had to clean up. There was two spots that had some sort of yellow/orange tacky stuff on it from the get go and multiple places where the carpet was coming up. I contacted my sales rep who sent out her less than helpful “manager”. No apologies from him, he cut out pieces of the carpet that had the stains on it that I just paid over $5,000 just for one level of the house, and told me “it’s supposed to be like that” in the places we showed him was frayed and falling apart on the edges. And rather than doing what a manger should do and checking over the rest of the house to make sure no other issues he quickly slipped out of the house and left. I had to reach out AGAIN 2 days later because there were multiple other spots we found where the carpet was not attached (where you could pull the carpet back and be stabbed with the tack board underneath). The manager came back out again acted annoyed to be inconvenienced and instead of fixing it the right way just went around putting staples/nails around the boarder of the rooms which you can now see indents in the brand new carpet. Two weeks later and the carpet is still fraying off everywhere and still finding pieces popping up that our 8month old could choke on. Thanks so much for the inconvenience and terrible service Randy’s- The whole point of us getting carpet was for a safer place for our 8month old to explore and you made it more dangerous for him than if we would have just kept our wood floors. Would NEVER recommend this company to...
Read moreThe most "eh" experience. We had our project done in phases. We had two deliveries, and both times there was attitude (minor thing considering they were young and the delivery instructions they received weren't very clear). This was for an office downtown so old building and bad parking with only one entrance so another reason I don't really knock the delivery drivers.
We had 3 installers. The first gentleman did a good job, there was an area that they did not do due to a misunderstanding between rep and I but the installer completed the area and it looked great after. Though that area would not have been completed had I not called the rep about the fact that they did not put any nose piece or trim on the stairs, this was because the rep did not indicate where I'd ask the delivery team to put the trim pieces and the delivery team never noted where they were and so the installer did not know they existed. The rep worked with me on this and it was installed over the weekend since no one could walk on it for a little and as mentioned there's only one entrance.
The second installer was fine while installing, liked to talk a lot but friendly enough. Though he left trash and tools for over a week and after contacting the rep multiple times, I disposed of them.
The third rep was where I soured on the whole thing. They were laying tile on the first cold day of winter and he did not bring a heater with him. Because of this, it took 2 days to grout the floor. On top of this, we were told we wouldn't be able to walk on it until after he had laid it down. Pretty convenient when it was known there was only one entrance. The installer then did not have anything to put of the floor for us to walk on.
I will not be using them again or recommending them. If I remembered the first installers name I would recommend him and would give him a...
Read moreI originally gave them a 5-star rating when I first purchased my "pet proof" carpeting, but it went downhill afterwards. 1 week after installation, my dog contracted a virus and had an accident on the week-old carpet. I immediately contacted Randy's and was told what solution to use to clean it so it would not void the warranty. I did that without any success. I called the professional carpet cleaner they recommended and had them come out and try to remove the stain. Unsuccessful but they were able to lighten the stain. My sales rep came out and took pictures of the stain and said a warranty representative would be out. A representative came out and after spending close to an hour, examining the carpet and my vacuum cleaner (which I never used on the spot) , he said he would submit a report. I should note that his "testing" of the area made the stain worse and more noticeable. A week later I received a notice that because it was dog feces, which I knew it was and told them it was, it was not covered under the warranty. Fast forward 7 months later, and the carpet in a different room snagged. I contacted Randy's again and really got no helpful response. I emailed my sales agent on January 9th and just today she responded. Too late. I went to Home Depot and replaced the stained carpet. They warranty it for ALL pet stains. Even if the carpet company wouldn't remedy it, Home Depot stands behind whatever they sell so I know the if I have the same issue, Home Depot will take care of it. Yesterday I paid the Home Depot installer to repair the snagged carpet for me, which he did in about 30 minutes and it looks great. Randy's is quick to take your money but wants nothing to do with you afterwards. I should have known better and gone with Home Depot from...
